Well, I fiddle-farted around too long and began my radio install later than planned. It was  outside. So much so that I had to put a towel on my seat, I was sweatin' it up bad.

I learned several things with this project. I'm not a bendy as I used to be. Laying shaped like a capital S while working under the dash is not as tolerable as it once was. I contemplated pulling out the seats, I was bent up that bad. But I pressed on.
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] Cable Run

Antenna wire run. Anyone know what that plug is for ?
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] Antenna Run

Ran inside and under dash.
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] Antenna Installed

Antenna completed. I put some thin rubber on the bracket where it rests on the fender, just cuz.
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] AUX Wire Location

The AUX wire bundle is above the passenger side hump. Took a while to find it and unwrap it. The now-stripped orange/pink wire is for switch 3.
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] AUX 3 Crimped

Wire for the positive side of the 12v outlet is crimped on, I was sliding on the heat shrink tubing over the splice. I always try to put on heat shrink on any connection. No pic of the completed heat shrink, we've all seen that....

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] RJ45 Jack II

Put the RJ45 (CAT 6e) in the panel. Used a UniBit step bit to drill the hole.

Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] Finished II

Re-installed, CAT6e plugged in. antenna and CAT6e run over to passenger area. Rubber plug not fully seated, I was doing a visual check
Jeep Gladiator What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK] Wire Run Complet

CAT6e and antenna wires.

I finished the install, no pics of that...at this stage I was letting out many hyphenated cuss words and I was partially blinded from sweat constantly running into my left eye...

It all works great, if anyone is interested, I can grab pics of the radio and 12v socket tomorrow.

That's IF I can bend tomorrow morning....

Excellent writeup, thank you for sharing. Don’t think I’m brave enough to undertake anything that complex looking myself, but love to see other peopleā€˜s work for something to aspire to!

You can totally take this on. A radio install was my very first Jeep modification ever in my life. They’ve gotten slightly more complex than a CB but nothing too serious. The CAT6e isn’t difficult just have to be careful on the hole cutting in the plastic. I’m planning on doing that into the passenger side center console with an extension to get it out away from my legs. Tackle it and you’ll be happy you did.

It actually wasn't that complicated at all, the Jeep designers made it uber-easy to do !! The sweating and contortions necessary took the fun out of it though, that's for sure. The only concerning part was taking that UniBit to the panel. I decided to go panel because it was easily replaceable and somewhat cheap. I contemplated dash mounting, but them parts are pricey.

It met my main objective; I wanted the casual looker to look inside my vehicle and think it's bone stock, no flashy expensive toys in view. If they want to steal my ducks, have at it.

Yesterday I took my doors off for the first time, slapped the Coyote mirrors on and took Ms. Bourbonrunner on an afternoon date instead of "fiddling with your Jeep."

Which in retrospect sounds kinda naughty.

Today I plan on starting my back seat non-delete and wiring project. Wish me luck.

ya know, you could ask the Mrs. to jump in the back seat one last time before it's removed.......just sayin!

I have an unreasonable fear of messing with the electrics / wiring, but it does look do-able I agree. You have me intrigued. I’ll think about it when I get the Midland.

The contortions needed are partly what make me hesitate. I’m 6’2 with back issues and I’m still feeling the effects of the running board install I did last Saturday. šŸ˜…

Makes sense to mess with the panel instead of the dash, and I’m the same on enjoying mods looking like stock.
