Now that there is a stellar idea !! Getting the passenger kick panel off to access the factory ground lug was a mutha, but now that I know how, it should go easier (he said optimistically).
It is a bear but at least it just kinda uses brute force. I’m a heck of a lot better at that than making intricate connections on comm wires. For me that is just frustrating as all hell. Give me regular electrical stuff and some solder filled connectors any day of the week.

About 24 hours of driving in two days. Knocked out a badge trail along the way. Averaging 19-20 mpg at 75 mph, depending on the wind. Running 34 psi front 36 psi rear, once warm. We'll see the Pacific by end of day tomorrow with some stops along the way.

Fully loaded or dry weight?
Fully loaded for a two week trip, see here:

Yeah I was expecting 6800ish, not 7500.

That's with 50L of water, full fuel tank, full drawer including spare axle shafts and a lot of tools, and both of us in the vehicle. Fully loaded over the road weight for a two week trip.

Drives fantastic on the highway even at this weight. 4.88s are keeping it in 8th very happily, 7th for some steeper climbs. Corners flat thanks to the HD Antirocks. And I know I've praised how well the AEV HD coils handle weight... This is with 4k lbs on that rear axle:

Retired. Finally !!
As I noted in my GMRS radio install, I installed a 12v socket on AUX 3 and plugged the OEM plug from the Midland into it. Reason being for the socket as opposed to snipping the wires was I could re-purpose the radio in the future if needed and I have a secondary 12v socket for other things.

This weekend I plan on testing that out. I have a 12v BougeRV cooler/refrigerator that in the past I plugged it into the dash and ran the cord across everything to the back seat. With this new socket I can run it along the floorboard between the passenger seat and center console, with the cord not in the way at all. Keeping that 12v socket in the dash free for....I don't know what.

Y'know, keeping with my "clean install" look that I obsess about....

Sounds like a good setup for sure! And you never know when a spare 12V socket will come in handy! 😁

Well done and I really hope this works for you. Because it’s exactly what I want to do in the future. :CWL:

Seriouser note, I always like to have a 12V barrel open on trips. You just never know what’s going to come along and having a standard type outlet for “whatever” is always a good thing.

I made a little headway in my wiring project yesterday.

I got the 8ga hot and ground run back along the passenger side rail and into the eventual location of the Blue Sea subpanel and 30a breaker. I ran the ground back along the hot into the front kick panel chassis ground.

I made a small panel for the breaker/sub panel out of scrap 1/2 baltic i had laying around the shop. I eased all the edges with a round over and sprayed it with a couple coats of Rustoleum bed liner.

I still am fiddling with the fridge platform. The under seat bin won't allow anything more than 1/2" and even then the seat doesn't come down exactly flush with the 40% side. What i've got here is a template for the platform for proof of concept.

I like the bin, it holds all my recovery gear and ratchet straps but I'm considering removing it and building a full width bin into the platform that can work with my plan.

If that happens, im using the 1/2" as a template and making the top 3/4" baltic to handle the weight of the fully loaded fridge. I also glued up 2 pieces of 3/4" to use as a support in front of the bin. I'm debating on painting it or carpeting it at the end but that's a ways off, same with a cover

Also, my Metalcloak diff guards are coming today. Which means this weekend i may wind up tackling my diff fluid changes and getting the assorted parts out of the dining room, to the chagrin of Ms. BourbonRunner.

In before someone comments on the gape not knowing it rides of the end of the camshaft where the oil mist diffuser is. ;)

How many miles?
I just traced the PCV hose to the end and found the valve. After I twisted it, I had to rock it back and forth to get the O-ring to slip. Have just under 46k miles on it. I heard the part had gone through a couple revisions. The new one has a completely different core part number. The new one I put in is 68609110AB. Hopefully, that was the right one.

That makes sense. I was curious why the diaphragm had seal ridges and explains why the old one looked expanded and curled over.
Yeah, it is why you have to take the PCV valve out before removing the valve cover if you have to get in there.

Here is a pic of the prior gen Pentastar with Cam mounted Oil Mist Diffuser attached and PCV but it is the same concept on our PUG engines.
