First home oil change today at 21k, it had been 5k miles since the last dealership change and it was pretty dirty. Almost done when I discovered this damage. I wonder when that happened. Ugh.

I'd look at it this way, you got lucky the transmission lines didn't rupture on the trail and you made it back to fix on your own time.

Installed the AEV steering damper upgrade. Wasn’t having any steering issues but figure I would try it out for a 120 bucks. Definitely noticed a tighter feel in the steering wheel. Have not gotten on the highway yet just ran a local errand. AEV includes a new nut and bolt for the change Jeep made somewhere along the way if it’s needed. Mine is an early 2021 and the stock bolt worked fine.

I had the Bilstein version of that and it worked great BUT....it pulled to the right. Went back to stock and all is fine. Let us know how it drives down the highway. If it doesn't pull, I may snag one.

I checked the battery voltages after it sat all night. 12.64 on main, 12.67 on auxillary one. 38 months on stock batteries is not a record from what I read, but at least I am not replacing them.

I finished the 500 mile break in on my new engine this weekend. This week I'll change the oil, add another 400 miles of moderate freeway driving, and put the skids back on to get ready for off-roading on Heartbreak Ridge near Big Bear this Saturday the 17th.

Well, starting Friday, loaded up lift kit on trailer and tools for drive over to fellow members house for a "lift kit instal party" on Saturday we started the party. Finished up checking things over this morning. And got to check out his newly installed stuff, talk Jeeps and like. Oh, we kinda dropped the ball on taking any pictures. 🙄

I'm having a issue linking Jude in so I snagged one of his post to.
Now to getting a 4 wheel alignment done. Next for his lift kit. ;)

Now, something about the lift kit it's a Rusty’s 2 in kit seems good except for the rear springs being to light duty for my Max-Tow, as of now in short 65 miles of driving on it, towing lightly loaded trailer home....
So I'll definitely need a new set of longer air bags or H.D. coils in back or possibly install the 2 coil spacers.
I think Rusty’s 2 kit would be spot on as is for most lightly loaded Gladiators. His JT on left and TJ behind mine.

I won't run the stock batteries for more than 3 years. I've known too many people with JL's and JT's that failed at or just after 36 months. So you are doing well, but you are on borrowed time! (maybe).

I replaced the JL batteries with an aftermarket AGM auxillary battery and an Odyssey pure lead high performance AGM for the main battery. I'll do the same for my JT in 2027. Besides being better and longer lasting, the high performance AGM handles long winch pulls much better. If anyone gets one, though, make sure to get the appropriate charger. Regular chargers won't handle them. I bought the smaller Optima charger and it works great. Best charger I've ever had.

It was a great weekend! I think we could have finished a lot faster if we hadn't jaw-jacked as much... but that was all part of the Jeeping thing, so the jaw-jacking was indeed necessary!

My shoulders are still a little sore from those front lower control arm bolts though... 190 ft/lbs... who came up with that... lol

Retired . . . "Money for nuthin . . ."
Just a little upgrade . . . Had a nice piece of cedar sitting around down in the shop, so shaped it up a little, gave it a couple coats of spar varnish, and have a bed divider!

Got some Royal Hooks billet hinges installed on the doors and hood after powder coating to go with the orange Mojave theme.

To each his own. I will never understand the colored hinge deal.
