Oh I hear that. I've been skating on thin ice for the last 5 years being a professional asshole......taking accountability for my shit.

We had an adult conversation a couple weeks ago..........main take away, leave the past in the past and move on. Neither of us has been perfect.......but we've made some positive progress........so trying to be respectful and hold up my end of the deal. She honestly doesn't GAF about me wrenching because it's been part of who I am since we met ......but timing is timing.

She's still roasting me about getting all of the parts I have in the garage on the JT.....but too much shit going on with the kids and work
We sound similar in that way. She doesn’t care, in fact likes that I have that hobby. But I try to not have it affect my time being a dad and husband. So boxes pile up. Timing is important. Now that I’ve got a garage, I try to mess with it on weird hours. But I’m old and tired, and impact wrenches are uncool either way kids asleep. :). I did a couple projects with hand tools only lately. Just for quiet.

My wifey just about divorce me over a scope I bought. Told her it was on sale. Got a good price for it. Got a Schmidt & Bender PM II 5-25x56 for $3,800. Was $4,200. She went ballistic. Threated me with divorce. That adventure cost me dearly. She buys stuff all the time that's on sale that she doesn't need. So I figure I would get the scope since I hardly buy anything. Figure one scope equaled to all the crap she buys. Doesn't work that way through a woman's mind.
Ha, that sounds familiar. Wife spends money on tattoos. Usually a couple hundred a session.
So awhile back I got a wild hair and bought one of those scope holders that makes noise.
Told her it was on sale, never seen it that low before, had to buy it. Which is something she tells me all the time. Guess it ain't a tit for tat kinda thing.
She claimed it wasn't the item or even the money, it was we didn't talk about it cause it was expensive.
Well if she thinks that one was expensive, wait until she finds out what the next scope holder is gonna cost. Let's just say she'll be able to get a whole sleeve, and that's before adding optics.

Added an aluminum tri-fold tonneau and the door storage pockets. Love the former, not so sure about the latter although they were simple to install and seem well enough made. Just concerned about it touching my leg.

Ive had a similar concern which is why I've held off until either someone let's me sit in theirs with some installed or my nets start sagging and get on my nerves and then have to do it.

I hate scratches on screens, so I finally got around to installing the Spigen GlasTR slim tempered glass screen protector (LINK). On very close inspection on my 2024 screen I could see a few faint scratches already on the most used button areas. Really happy with the results. The good news is that I did not notice any decrease in screen sensitivity.

Tips:
Try to do this in the lowest dust environment you have. Even with all this I ended up with one piece of dust, but luckily it does not show at all when the screen is turned on.

Have a light handy and shine at a very low angle when taking off the last of the dust.

The Jeep model does not come with a mounting template like the have for some cars (e.g. Tesla) so you have to wing it. What worked for me was to stack tape until I got to about 1mm (0.91, actually), cut a few pieces and attach to the narrow flat bezel below the screen. Then use some type of tape to set the left edge where you like it. This lets you guide in the bottom and side before you lay it on the screen. Unlike PPF, you can't move this at all once it is in place. I practiced a couple times before removing the back piece of release film. Photo below.

Getting rid of bubbles using the tools Spigen supplied was way easier than I anticipated.

Hard to show a photo of something that is pretty much invisible, but here's a couple.

Hello @JonMN, I’m getting ready to order this. How are you liking it so far? I still haven’t peeled the protective film off my screen. So when I do that I want to put one of these on immediately.

I am really happy with this. Ages ago I gave up on protectors on my iPhones since I was never happy with the result. This one turned out almost perfect, and, being glass, is so easy to clean. I did not see any change in touch response.

I actually purchased this months ago, but going in for service where there was a risk of removing the screen pushed me to install it. [And they never did really remove the screen.]

You can practice a little with the Spigen before you remove the back screen. It's very slightly undersized, so I worked really hard to center it on the actual screen. You can see what I came up with in my post, but about 1mm tape (I used one layer of 3M trim tape with one layer of vinyl to come up with about 1mm.). You can put pieces of this horizontally on the small lip under the screen. Add a stop of tape on the left, and I ended up with about perfect positioning. Just remember, you really only get one chance. It's not like PPF where you can slide it around until you are happy.

Have a flashlight handy and shine it at a very low angle to get all the dust of the screen. I still picked up one piece from the air while placing, but it's invisible when the screen is on.

Excess air was way easier to remove than anticipated. I only used the white scraper (the one with microfiber edge).

Painted the faded plastic cowl vent. Tried several black plastic restorers, but it eventually went back to the blotchy grey. I figured painting it should last a couple years before springing for a professionally painted piece. Came out pretty decent.

Looks great. Is that billet silver or zenith? Mine are pretty faded as well. I’m on the fence as to whether I should paint, replace, or diy wrap.

Thanks. Mine is billet silver (I think yours is also). I painted the mirror bolt covers, and keyhole covers as well. The paint matched pretty well, even the size and colors of the metal flakes. It turns out best with grey primer. I tried whilte primer as well as chrome/silver. Grey primer seemed to give the best results without using so much of the billet silver. It defintely requires clear coat. I went with Express Paint (expresspaint.com). Had good luck with them in the past for my previous cars.
