My Grandfather had one .. loved that thing. My uncles BIL has it now its a 53 or 54.

I’ll probably only do this once in my life, so I’m pretty excited. A little overwhelmed as well. One step at a time. Step 2, get it to CO.

Some of me likes that idea, but I want to be able to take it places, meaning highways. So I want safe steering, safe brakes, and strong axles. I’m thinking offroad restomod.

Can't argue with that. I would do the same. If it's not solidly rebuildable, replacing would work better. And safer.

You’d have to have some pretty good fabrication skills for all of that. And the machines to do it.
It would be fun though if you could.

I attempted to adjust my parking brake shoes at the axles, but Jeep in their infinite wisdom?? made the adjustment access hole basically useless, and it doesn't have an auto brake adjust going backwards and setting the brake like every single manufacturer out there. Hey Jeep, get it together. K thx bye.

I attempted to install my free soft top today, only to find that someone decided it was better suited as a ladder instead. One is cracked and the other is broken in half. $153 dollars later, guess I’ll be installing it next week

They are suggesting that with my experimenting, detailed reports and so on - if we find a solution for mine, they are hoping to be able to help others as mine is the worst ever seen.
They got their hands on my original top - and it fit PERFECTLY on their test rig. It was horrible on mine - cut seals, terrible fit, riding all but against the door, but fit perfectly on a test rig.
So.......... no matter what Jeep says, my Jeep is off somehow.

So I came home to a new Sunrider sitting in the driveway. Was very excited. Put it together, took the old one off and put the new one on. OMG it is worse than the old one. Same issue. The material is so tight on the drivers side that when putting the top flat that it pulls even more and it sits up even higher in the back than the old one. Harder to latch down as well. Took it off and put the old one back on.
