More progress.

PXL_20250912_002130988.NIGHT.webp
Today:
-Stripped it down more to get at everything
-Steering pump removed, modified with Apex boost kit, reinstalled
-PS cooler installed and lines routed
-Factory box replaced with PSC unit, pitman arm swapped over
-Steersmart track bar brace clearanced and painted for coil spring interference
-Fox steering stabilizer and bracketry removed in preparation for ram installation

Tomorrow: (assuming I just call off work to knock this out)
-Drop the tie rod to remove factory stab plates
-Mount ram and run lines. I'm not really sure how to find center so I'll have to figure that out
-Trim the grille for the cooler and reinstall, bolt the bumper back into place
-Reinstall driver side coil and new bump stops on both sides, reinstall drag link, adjust wheel alignment slightly
-Reinstall intercool pipes and all electrical shit
-New front brake pads
-Bleed system, adjust ps pump blowoff pressure
-Flip front lower control arms for more clearance at full lock
-Install rear antirock
-Reinstall fenders/liners/snorkel and drive?

The Sumo's would do as much or more but its neat. But I can buy those sumas half as cheap as those jobs.
Case in point: just realized the passenger bump didn’t extend back fully

Hoping it just lost nitrogen charge after sitting for years, but kinda odd that it’s the only one.

Trying to get the driver side motor mount out. It failed. Anyone do this yet? All bolts and nuts are out. That wasn’t bad with the fender off. But haven’t been able to lift the engine high enough to clear the post.

Earlier this week I drove 2 hours one way to pick up a set of thin skinz for my rear doors(they have been difficult to find and on the hunt for a set for a year)

Then tonight I installed my Metalcloak extended rear brake lines. I have a trip to URE next weekend and I removed a bumpstop puck on each side per MC suggestion while on the CTI trailer but was also warned that I was close if not already maxing out my stock rear brake lines.

Also cleaned out the caked in mud in my rear rotor from Windrock a few weeks ago, I think this was giving me a shimmy feeling in the rear.

And finally I installed my grille stripe I picked up at SMJI from @Underground Graphics

Nice work. I have the same brake lines. I’d suggest you now extend your abs cables to match. They’re now the shortest thing and will wreck your day if they break. I did a thread a year or two ago about doing custom length extending.

Pulled my drag link, drilled my knuckle to 7/8”, which was not fun at all, but it’s done. Cleaned it up and test for the new teraflex drag link in a top steer orientation.
I'm about to drill out my upper for top mount MetalCloak draglink. Do you have any lessons learned or tips or tricks?

Installed front and rear door DV8 pockets ( I left the nets in). A terrific improvement over the weird stretchy nets.
Also installed the CLAMBER Overhead Panel. Radios to come later. I was ready to purchase the Epic overhead rack, but didn't like the idea of drilling holes. And with the added shipping and tariffs, it was over $400. The Clamber utilizes the stock holes front and rear (no drilling) for $80.00. It also has slots that will work for RAM track balls.

Just go slow and be patient. Mine is the cast iron knuckle, so I used oil to cool the cut as I went. Couldn’t for the life of me find my machine oil, so I used gear oil. :) It took me an hour to drill it, but went slowly and no issues with broken bits. Slow speed with pressure. If it binds, stop immediately and reverse the bit to smooth the spot you’re caught on. If it starts to smoke, you need more oil.
