Attempted to install my corner sliders. Not as easy as I thought it was going to be. I’m going to have to look into fitment with the plastic bumper because it’s not just getting slapped on there without some dremel work. I was also worn down from yard work so I’ll tackle it again when I’m fresh. Not every project goes as expected. It’s a Jeep. 🤷‍♂️
It ties into the Oem rear steel bumper, which makes them super strong. If you haven’t cut them yet, you might try to find a take off.

I picked up the sliders from Rebel Off-road in early August ‘25 about a month after I bought the jeep. I’ve been looking for an affordable stock steel bumper ever since. I call Rebel off-road and a couple other shops on a regular basis to ask if they have any they’ve taken from a build. Honestly I don’t see these as permanent. I’ll use em until I can afford a full rear bumper with side armor then sell em off for a song to help someone else out so they can do the same thing.

Makes perfect sense. I’m on my second Oem steel. I murdered the first one and a friend gave it to me when he upgraded to a sweet swingarm bumper.

Thanks guys. I looked but didn’t see it. I think I remember a thread on it quoted not too long ago but couldn’t find it either. I’m not against expeditiously cutting up the plastic bumper. Especially the bottom portion. I can see myself coming off the slider and snagging the bottom and ripping the whole bumper cover to kingdom come.
This is what I used when I installed my Redrock bed sliders. Go to 12:27 if you want to see the cut.

Retired. Finally !!
Productive morning! (Actually didn’t take that long but I feel accomplished!) Got the dead pedal installed:

I've had a dead pedal on my Wish List since I bought the Gladiator. My last 4 vehicles had them, so when I found this one didn't, it was put on the "gotta get" list; I thought it was idiotic that Jeep forgot such a simple thing. My first couple drives, I put my left foot out for the dead pedal, purely out of habit, and my foot dangled.

But then I noticed something; I didn't miss it one bit. Then one ride I figured out why. None of my old skool 1950's era Willys had them. I started driving my 1954 Willys M38A1 around 1975 when I was 14. My "go-to" habit for my left foot with all my Jeeps (when not shifting, of course) was to pull my leg up, close to the seat, my foot flat on the floorboard. It was always perfectly comfortable for me. I found myself going back to that routine with THIS Jeep. Didn't even realize I was doing it until I paid attention, it came naturally. Even on drives that are 2+ hours; I don't miss it.

The dead pedal is still on the list, but no longer a "gotta get" item.

I was on the hunt for a. OEM steel bumper for awhile. Most people I messaged wanted 1k for both front and rear but didn't want to sell separately. One guy wanted 900 just for the front bumper. This was early in 2022. I ended up just buying a brand new one from JustForjeeps for $800 shipped. I got tired of looking for 7 months.

Yeah I dont get the "need" for the dead pedal. Maybe its bc I have long legs and want more room, but I prefer being able to stretch my leg out(even then I touch the firewall as sort of a dead pedal).

That’s how I drive mine as well. And now I can’t stop driving other cars like that, even though they have dead pedals.

Thanks! We are leaving Thursday morning. We’re staying downtown, which is awesome. We can walk to just about everything. However….. Since we’re of older age, we tend to be in bed by 10pm, the night time noises (traffic, parties, people talking outside, etc) has been challenging to fall asleep. 😂 …that’s to be expected in this situation!
So how was the trip?
