Honestly they are so easy to get to as well. Tucked right under the glove box with some tape.hardest part was telling the difference from the colors
It really is a game changer. And it also opens up a good option for me to run a dash camera. The one I have on my other car needs both a constant and ignition line. I'd much rather pull that than an add-a-fuse.

I started a thread on my aux wiring setup but this is going to take a ton of time off my work. I may try and jump on it tomorrow depending on how my morning goes and if my boss lets me out early.

Finished up my 75,000 mile maintenance. Oil change, oil filter, lube, tire rotation. Took oil sample for Blackstone Labs. Need to order air filter and cabin filter.

Exactly what I did. My dash cam has constant and ignition as well. It was simple to run the wires across the top and then down the passenger side behind the glove box. Jeep making things easy.

I removed the Quadratec running lights the previous owner put on and installed the newer Oracles. He put them below the camera but I think it looks silly in the middle of the grille. Only complaint is the plastic on the Oracles is very thin. I accidentally cranked down too hard on a zip tie and it broke. I got it sorted but it's worth mentioning if anyone decides to do these.

I originally intended to put them in the hood scoop but decided against it. I may change my mind down the road if I can locate a smaller diameter light but for now this will do.

Anyone want a set of pre runner lights with the grill trim?

Had mine in the same location. I think they look great, and they worked great for about 18 months. Then they decided to have their own light show every time they were on, so I pulled them. I hope their reverse lights last longer.

Well, since I'm a newbie with my GMRS license, I had to add a mobile radio to my Jeep. I decided to go with the Midland MXT 275 Jeep branded model. Top of the line ? Hardly. Will it serve my needs ? Most definitely. The cowl bracket for the antenna should be here tomorrow, I'll just plug it into my Jackery and play with it for a while before I mount it up. I went outside with the magnet antenna only to learn there isn't a whole lotta steel on this Jeep !! Lots of plastic and aluminum.

My antenna base fits perfect in the middle of the bed rail in the middle of the sliding window, Hasn’t moved a bit even on severe washers board roads.

Was trying to get ready for a trip. 5,000 miles, 18 days. Was supposed to leave this morning.

Main garage door spring broke a couple days ago which made prep work a lot more annoying. Yesterday I changed the rear diff fluid, did an oil change, fuel filter change, and cleaned the air filter. On top of that with all the packing and other little stuff, I was busting ass yesterday.

I use an AFE Dry filter. I used their cleaner, let it soak, and rinsed it. It works really well. I let it air dry in the sun most of the day.

I had put the air filter back in when it was still ever so slightly damp. I could see light through it, so I figured it was dry enough. No dripping or anything like that. People water inject diesels anyway, the airflow will dry it right up. More water comes in during rain, surely.

Those of you with the diesel know about the HPFP issues and the priming dance after changing the filter. I primed it about 12 times, until it sounded like it wasn't making any more progress. When I started the truck, it cranked for about 10 seconds but then fired up. I hate it, but it is what it is.

I manually set the idle for about 1500 rpm and let it sit there for 5 minutes or so, to get the oil warmed up a bit to check level, dry out the filter some, and ensure all the air was out of the fuel lines.

All good.

4 hours later I left to work the midnight shift last night. Backed into the street in pouring rain, drove down the hill, and she chugged and shut off. Restarting lit the dash up like a christmas tree, stumbling at idle, shutting off violently when put into drive. Cool. I was still in my neighborhood so I just left it in the street and walked back to get the Subaru and went to work. I couldn't afford to deal with it at the moment, my coworkers were getting rocked by thunderstorms and I needed to be there.

I figured the HPFP had grenaded. Other possibility was I've had issues with the PCM freaking out if I don't really crank down on the fuel filter housing and petcock as well so I'd been there and done that before. I pulled codes and it was all for an intake leak and the MAF sensor. Everything was sealed up tight. Opened the intake and the MAF sensor was wet. For whatever reason on these engines the thermocouple (or whatever you call it) on the sensor is on the top of the unit, and on the leading edge, with a little cutout around it. So it's fantastic for collecting water.

I dried it off, and reset the codes. Same result. I unplugged it and drove it up to my house. Runs fine that way in limp mode. I think I've toasted the MAF sensor.

Called the local dealership. No MAF sensors in the state, soonest they can have one is 14 days. A couple online Mopar parts suppliers can have one to me in a few days.

So I doused it in CRC MAF cleaner and it's drying in the sun. Maybe I'll get lucky. But I think she's fried. Another spare part to keep on hand for the EcoDiesel.

Also my gamble on the Harbor Freight lights has not paid off. Should have just coughed up for the Baja Designs

Trials and tribulations before a big trip. At least you can take the HF lights back and trade em in fairly easily. Assuming they are still under warranty. For the price and performance even if they need to be changed out a couple times it ain’t a bad deal.

90 day warranty on those lights. Might have been eligible for the extended warranty but I didn't go for that.

Ah that sucks. I was aiming for the brighter side. Let’s see…….. they’re sold in singles!!! You only have to fork over cash for a single light and not a pair! And get the warranty. That way if the older ones aren’t far behind on failing you have it on one of em.

pop that amber cover on and use the busted one for a camp light somewhere on the back of the Jeep. :like:

Nice. I have Squadron something’s in the front bumper as fog lights. Came with the jeep when I bought it. I think those will move out back as chase lights when I finally address lighting. I’m looking at AuxBeam for the front as they all have the backlighting feature that looks pretty good in a well priced package. Ambers are illegal here on the rear of the vehicle while it’s in motion except for emergency use.

A pair of LP6's with wiring harnesses are just under $1250. Amber lenses and rock guards are another $100. That $1350 gets you just under 50K hours total warranty assuming you bought them from a legit seller.

A pair of Road Shock 6's with the add on 2 year warranty and harnesses is just under $450. Amber lenses and rock guards included.

Are the LP6s better? Likely but 3x better? Probably not especially given the convenience factor of swapping them at the HF store 5 minutes away.
