What do you recommend for aftermarket mud flaps?

I have RokBlokz with the cut out on my Mojave. I have the factory rock rail. The Mud flaps have worn off the finish of the rock rail and made it brown and rusty in that area. I even have a rust line dripping down the front flaps from it. 2 years, 3 months old and 65,000 miles.

Do the Weathertech front flaps do this? I’m getting a new Gladiator and looking for an alternative to the Rokbloks that won’t do the same thing.

I trimmed my fronts so they didnt contact my factory rail, also, that rail is rotting from the inside anyway, look at the rust coming out of the caps. Get some fluid film and pop the cap off and spray that sucker full and you will buy yourself some time. Rockblocks are great imho, we run them on the JT and our JK here in Michigan for the salty crap.

I have the Rokblokz XL, and I had to remove them due to decreased stability at interstate speeds in heavy, gusty crosswinds (Rubicon XR w/35x12.5 Baja Boss MTs). I'm going to keep them stored in a bag in the back of the Jeep and put them on only in conditions where needed like gravel roads, mud, snow, etc.

No, with my JL XR. I forget which forum I’m on sometimes, lol. It has a similar effect to having an RTT or some other wind catching add-on, but ONLY in severe crosswinds where the XL flaps cause too much turbulence. Doesn’t take much at 80mph in high winds to affect steering control on these solid axle vehicles.

I like ‘em. Second Glad I’ve put them on. I only run the fronts. You can’t tell in the pic but they actually come out as far as the edge of the stock 285. Good protection.

Rokblokz on all my Jeeps despite the pricetag. Have had a few sets of standard sizes on JLR, JLURs, and now a set of XL longs on the JT. The XL longs curve back at the bottoms over time. Overall great durability. I'm the opposite of you ShadowsPapa, I like the rally-style look of the rokblokz over the "grand cherokee" OEM style injection molded look of the weather techs. FWIW, I've wheeled with the rokblocks on and they bend and fold over rocks no problem. To each his own...

If I had them, I'd cut about 3" off the bottom of the rokblocks - too much size, too long for me, would get stuck when I back into snow banks while plowing. I'd rip them off maneuvering in the piles of snow.

Don't need anything that low. Mine block everything needed to block from the Jeep itself.

IMO - don't need more length than this. I have pictures that show the pattern they protect on both of our Jeeps.

I was cresting hill peaks and going through deep dips enough to scrape the control arms and other parts, but the mud flaps were not at risk. (buried the snow plow brackets so it was a good test of clearances on the thing)

I put them in my Amazon cart earlier today, and when I just went to go buy them the price had increased 10-15%. Grrrrrrr.

I also got the weathertechs. I wanted a factory appearance. These work with the diesel exhaust, which I don't believe the mopar ones do. The front weathertechs fit nicely around oem rockrails. They offer decent protection for my 11" wide tires on oem wheels. Not 100%, but drastically better than no mudflaps.

The ones I have are extra long which helps protect my trailer. I'll let you know as soon as I rip one off in the snow. We haven't had a bad winter since I picked up the truck. Love the bright green on your truck.

That makes sense. I don't tow often enough, and can always get a front shield for my car hauler to protect the car, but it's not worth having longer mud flaps on it full time. (anything from my truck would not have an easy time getting up past the trailer to the car anyway)
You have a very different situation.
