A survey to see the demographic age groups
represented by Gladiator owners.

Generation Alpha would be too young to drive
and The Greatest Generation with rare exception
would be too old to drive now
but I wanted to show all seven age groups.

Thank you for playing.

Unfortunately I fall into the millennial category, but I most certainly don’t feel like I should. I’m in my 40s, six figure income, house, kids, 2 new Jeeps, boat, muscle car, and I don’t live with my parents. I’m about as far from millennial as it gets. Meanwhile on the other hand, my wife turns 50 this year and acts like a 14 year old, so there’s that šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø

Unfortunately, millennials have a bad rep for some reason. I don't get it. My son is class of 2000, born in 82 and he's as responsible as they come.
He and his wife work their tails off. She's always flying back and forth dealing with her schools and books.
No way he'd ever have a 6 figure income, and man, that was only a dream of mine - but then the cost of living is lower here so when I see "six figure income" it doesn't mean the same in CA as it would in IA.

I agreed. Half of the millennial didn't experienced before the internet. Like you, I'm an early millennial and finds that it's hard to have a normal conversation with some late millennial.

Foreal. 6 figure income in CA just means it's enough to get by. I think, it's the later half that gave millennial a bad rep 🤣

Yeah, the money in California is very different from the money elsewhere. It’s worthless. If I wasn’t tied to the state career wise I’d be long gone in a hurry. I absolutely cannot stand this state but there aren’t many states that make this kind of income as easily as I do here. I mean, I can’t say easy, but I really feel like I’m overpaid for what I do here.

I agree. I feel like early to mid 80s should not be considered millennials personally.

Years ago my oldest, the millennial I referred to, told me "Dad, sometimes I'm ashamed to be part of my generation".

But like any "group" of people - there's all types.

Don't feel bad about being overpaid because everyone that works in CA are overpaid. It's by design. Higher pays, products and services equal more taxes for the state. My colleagues out in Texas are making less than half, doing the same jobs.

I hear ya. I met a guy from New York who does the same job I do. I figured New York is expensive, he must make good money. He had 28 years of service at the time of our conversation and I only had 7 years. At that time he was making less than $30/hr where I was at $43/hr with only a quarter of the experience he had.
Best thing I can say is plan accordingly. I put roughly 15k per year into my retirement, another 5k in the stock market, and another 10k under my mattress so to speak. I could be doing better with my finances but for now it works. Gotta look at the future before it gets here.

Depending on where you went, you can live as well, or even better, on less pay. Everything is going up everywhere, but, in some places, the rate is not as fast as others. When I moved to South Carolina from Southern California, I took an honest 50% pay cut. However, the cost of living here was a lot less, so I really didn’t notice much difference. Cheap gas in Cali was $1.59. Gas here was $1.02. I was in heaven. (I know, that was a good while ago!).

i feel lucky to have hit 33/hr by the time I retired 7 years ago at 60.
If I had chosen to try for the next step up it might have made $38/hr - but that was a lot more work and responsibility, including supervising others and I told the boss I didn't want any promotion to that level. (rough figures, I was salaried for some reason)

100% on that. There are certain cities I visit and I feel like a god there. Then I come home and have to take an overtime shift to pay for gas šŸ˜‚
