That’s neat but the camera is pretty good on the JT I can generally put the ball right under the hitch on my trailers, a basic height adjustable hitch should be sufficient

So dumb question but, hypothetically, this should work with damn near anything most of use would be hauling correct?
Who else is considering something like this for towing?

Why would I when this JT turns sharper than trucks I've owned before and has a camera that focuses on the hitch when needed? I can back directly under the tongue and drop it down and do it first time every time.
Talk about making us lazy.
I've also had trailers with a wheel on the jack so I can nudge it if needed. My car hauler doesn't, but I've yet to need anything like this.
Maybe others have more difficulty -
My second point would be the wear and noise from all the joints - eventual slop.

Looks like a gimmic for people that probably should not be towing stuff in the first place. With the rear facing camera literally looking right at the hitch this just seems like a total waste of money, and an overly complex gadget...to what save 30 secinds it takes to reposition a little.

Pretty cool technology actually. It's not something that I would get much use out of but I'm sure it's helpful for some people's situations.

Not sure I'd call it technology really when more complex things were done 100, even 700, years ago.

This is cool technology and there wasn't even a computer around to tell them how to do it........

Or nautilus gears, or the clockwork escapement invented in the 1200s and put into some of the first clocks in the 1300s - NO computer to aid them.

It was technology then and it's technology now. We didn't invent technology recently.

I guess an arm with a ratchet strap to pull it back is technology.

This is a modern version of what I had on my 1936 F20 tractor so sorry if it's not really that impressive to me personally.
I had a long bar bolted across the front of the drawbar.
I had a swinging arm that pivoted on that bar.
I backed up to the equipment, swung the arm to where I needed to hook up to the implement and then I'd pull forward, the arm would straighten out and I'd drop a pin in.
Damn, I should have patented and improved that for trailers. A ratchet strap would have done it, and one more joint.

Actually, yes. Here is a quick search definition of technology:

"the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes, especially in industry"

There were times in our history when a ratchet strap would have had the locals looking at you as if you were a sorcerer. :CWL:

... or the mirror. (that would scare some)

Duct tape, the handyman's secret weapon and my favorite technology.

I guess for anybody without a backup camera this could be semi useful, seems like adjusting would be easier than cranking this thing though. I actually named the backup camera in my van the hitch cam because it was the only thing I ever used it for was hitching the trailer. Even now my kids mess with me because I look out the back window instead of using the camera in the JT.

Just adds multiple points of possible failure.
Wear points, areas to rattle. If you have no rear camera - maybe
