I am looking at purchasing a trailer to tow while I am overlanding. I am looking at the Coachman/Forest River Viking or Clipper 9.0 TD Off Road Pkg. First question is anyone towing one of these? If not, what are you towing behind your JT's. Very interested to know.

I tow an M416 with a RTT on it. I can tell you this, any of the mass produced trailers will fall apart being pulled offroad. Hell, most of them fall apart bing pulled on the interstate. I would look at Offgrid trailers out of Canada. Pricey but awesome.

We also tow an off road roof top tent trailer. Smittybilt Scout. It’s been fantastic, and it goes wherever the Jeep can. 12” of clearance with 32” tires, independent a arm suspension with two shocks, 1 spring, and limiting straps per wheel. It will fit 37’s without clearance issues. Matching 5x5 lug pattern if you want to share the spare as a second one with the Jeep.

I don't tow. But here is a plethora of trailers out there to tow. Overlanding? Camping. Depends on how much money you want to spend. My first choice was the Off-grid Trailers version. Then I looked at bunches of others. Ended up with ordering OVRLND Camper. Nothing to tow then and plenty of place to put it. Plus it goes anywhere I want to.

I definitely understand that side, as ours uses up most of the garage spring through fall. We really like having base camp setup for the entire stay, so day trips are easier.

I can’t do an e bike. It seems like cheating. :)
I've ridden both. I have a hardtail Marin currently. But looking at a full suspension E-bike. Kind of cheating. I would say it's like a difference between the torque of a 3.6 gasser and a 3.0 Ecodiesel. Not hating but have driven both. Diesel hands down for the win.

I'm going with a Sunray 109. It isn't really a rugged offroad trailer, but is beefed up for some offroad. Unfortunately we don't have it yet, custom ordered it in February...didnt want the ones on the lot.

I really like that one but was afraid I would destroy it on Jeep trails. Should be fine on forest roads and such.
That is pretty much how I'm figuring it. I don't know how much true 4x4 I would be doing anyways (with or without the trailer...especially if my wife has a say in it lol). She wanted running water and to be able to somewhat stand in the camper, ac and heat. I liked that it at least looked somewhat heavy duty and light weight . We both liked the price...especially since I could get it from my uncle (rv business my grandfather started).

I am working on a M1101 LTT (Light Tactical Trailer). I call this project the War Wagon. I have a roof top tent that I am thinking about putting on it. I’m starting to think I would like to have an enclosure with an awning instead…
