Dont have a build page but will dig up some pics. Pretty basic though, queen fold down bed, AC and a front counter cabinet area.

Smittybilt Scout. It’s been fantastic. It’ll go wherever the JT will, and has the same lug pattern, and takes 37’s.

Just an aside that our A-frame popup has the "off road" package with raised height and AT tires. I wouldn't drag it up forest roads unless I knew I didn't have to turn around. We did so once and it involved backing the trailer through a ditch and between some trees then doing a 7 point turn. But a practical advantage to the offroad package even if you don't offroad is that the trailer can go over city curbs as well, which we've done several times to simplify getting in/out of somewhere.

We have gotten tired of crowds at RV sites, and gas prices have gone up enough to actually be a factor. Lucked into a "COVID project" from a Jeeper who traded up to a Diesel Gladiator and an even bigger travel trailer than we have! Something had to go, so the M101 A3 he'd rebuilt and upgraded came home with us (thanks Tye!). Following weekend was Lassen NF and NP, with a side trip through Nevada to Stanislaus NF and camping at 8,000 ft. Our regular travel trailer would NEVER let us go near here, it's getting demoted to coastal RV parks only.

Lassen NF, dang trailer has a LOT more ground clearance than the Jeep (time for a lift):

We did use a portable AC with our propane generator, the North side of Lassen NP (we were in NF in Shasta Co) is lower altitude than the South, so.....queen size bed in the most comfortable tent either of us has ever used:

And having the whole East side of the top pond of Mosquito Lakes to ourselves, that was OK in my book:

Outdoor shower and potty in a separate tent is really not THAT much of a downgrade from a regular travel trailer, and the cargo capacity for anything we want to bring is a HUGE upgrade from my YJ camping days.

We've now got a list of improvements, starting with a tan cover - the dark top got HOT inside back home! My wife wants drop down tables on the sides, I think that's a great idea, and receiver hitches on the sides to hold bike racks are on deck.

Having a mechanically new trailer with 12V LED lights and 4pin already done makes for a GREAT platform to build on. I'm now a surge brake convert, and the noise of a pintle mount ceased to be an issue on the trip home - it's just another "Jeep thing".

Mojave Road this Winter will be our first chance to test improvements, can't wait!

My wife is a teacher, it's going to depend on her schedule. Thanksgiving is set for a big party in Phoenix AZ for her 60th, so that window is out. Figuring to push to Christmas vacay, which is going to be COLD in the desert! My sweetie doesn't like the cold, that's why she lived in PHX for 29 years, you know?

I did the Road in March 2018, that's a great time as well. Tried again in 2020 with my buddies, but it got hot early, and too many folks NOPED on it. Timing is everything.

Snazzy solar, is that enough for your fridge?

We're looking at solar/battery pack, and on-board water. PRETTY SURE the next trip to Costco is going to have solar and a 12v fridge in the cart.....

Yes, it seems to be more than enough. I have everything running thru a Redarc Manager 30. That is, by far, the most amazing part of this build. Allows me to plug in via shore power, charge thru solar and charge thru the vehicle when hooked up on the road. It's pricey, but it checked all the boxes. The battery is amazing too. I did a test and with the fridge on running all night with no charging input, and at 8a.m. the next morning the battery was still at 94%.

I went the M1102 route. Fully enclosed with roof top tent and awning with sidewalls. It tows fine behind the gladiator. I do want to remove the Mil tires as they are very heavy.
