I was never into the ducking fad. I've seen Wranglers in parking lots with 30 or more ducks all over the dash, hung along the windshield frame, etc.. I've seen duck decals, T-shirts, cups, everything. It appears Jeep got onboard with this fad; you can get official duck crap from Jeep. I figured it was a female thing, no self-respecting male would have that nonsense on their Jeeps. Misogynist ? Yeah, a wee bit.

I told my wife if I ever get ducked, that crap is going in the house. About a month ago while at a Buc-ee's, I got ducked. A little blue duck matching my blue Gladiator. I'll admit, it made me smile having that little gift left behind. I put it on my dash with the exception of, "Only one.". My wife loved it (ties into my previous misogynist statement above). Then I got another. My wife bought a bag of ducks and she enjoys peppering other Jeeps when she sees them, "It's harmless fun !!". Yes, I now have a bag o' ducks under my passenger seat. She loves digging through the bag to find the "right one" for the Jeep she wants to pollute.

I think I have like 6 ducks now. Yeah, each one made me smile when I saw it, I'll admit that. I told my wife I'm at my limit, these things gotta go. She does the, "Nooooo !! They're so cute !!".

The Jeep Wave I can get in to. Been doing it since the 70's. Been doing it on my motorcycle for decades, similar to the Jeep Wave, except your hand is held low at 8 o'clock. Harley riders only wave back to other Harley riders. Snooty. I don't ride a Harley, but I'll wave at them just to annoy. lol.

Back to ducks....While I've only been getting ducked for about a month or so, I'm already over it. I'm a grown-ass man and I don't want toys scattered across my dash, no matter the fad. I don't want to be "that guy" and put rude "NO DUCKS" or some other nonsense by my door handle. I smile and put it on my dash in case the gift-giver is watching, after all, the giver took the time out to put a duck on my Jeep.

Anybody with me ? Do you have a "safe of ducks" on your dash ? Yeah, I Googled what a group of ducks were called..."safe"....I was gonna type flock, but that refers to ducks in flight...."gaggle" only refers to geese...who knew ??

Be honest. Will you say you hate them but if we look at your dash you have quite the collection ??

Do you secretly hope, as I do, that this too shall pass ? Or are you proud of your collection ? No judgement from me, Your Jeep, Your Rules. I'm just curious if I've become a curmudgeon of an old man.

They're silly but not worth getting into a twist IMO.

Yet they remain among the most controversial topics on the form... and much like a thread about a random YouTuber claiming an inside track on Jeep releasing a 392 JT, they devolve quickly into a pissing match.

@Mud Pie Yep. You’re ducked my man. Just go ahead and paint the Jeep yellow with an orange hood. Change the horn to an obnoxiously loud quack, get a sign for the doors that says “Will wave for bath toys”. It’s a slippery slope and you, Sir, have found the proverbial banana peel.

I've been ducked twice. Both times by kids while I was coaching at soccer fields. Once when I lived in TX and once since I moved to Utah. Kept both ducks in center console for awhile eventually throwing them away.

They make programmable speakers to use as a horn "for show purposes" you can add your own sounds. This could get fun(ny).

Ya, its a load of quackery but getting my first one given to me back in 2021 by this big burley man at a gas station that said his wife is making him do this, I didn't or couldn't say NO. He squeezed a grimmising smile out of me with a big man hug and walked away leaving me wondering what the heck just happened.

Theres worse things that could land on the truck like a high altitude gift from a constipated pelican.

So, it's safe to say that someone, somewhere has that horn programmed to play "Disco Duck"...
You have to be of a certain age group to know how annoying THAT song was....

For those that remember, I apologize. For those that do not know what I'm saying....you too can suffer...

I can't believe how many allegedly grown ass men cry about a stupid duck. What a bunch of divas.

Grow the F up. Keep them, dump them, re-gift them, give them to kids in your life, who cares? It's a harmless meaningless acknowledgement that someone likes your Jeep. It's a compliment. Stop being such crybabies about it.

I was doing the duck thing for a short while but they would always go in the glove box while offroading because they fly all over the dash. After some time the ducks on the dash made my Glad look like a Tijuana taxi so now they go straight to the glove box for my wife to give out when she’s out with me.
I have a 10” tall one that a grandson gave me that I keep on my dresser along with a couple from my wife. Those I’ll keep cuz they’re from family. Other than that, it’s just not my thing.

Now I have that earworm stuck in my head for at least another 6-8 hours. Again.

If you put something like that on your dash around here an oh-so-tolerant person may key your truck. YMMV.
That's a very good point. I hadn't really considered keeping any duck on the dash mostly because I don't want to use Velcro or double-sided tape to secure them. Regardless of duck, I'd probably display them in the garage or on my desk.

I don't put up political yard signs for the same concerns you mentioned. In some places, you're at risk of putting up an American flag! Sad to say the least!
