Changed tires from stock 245/75/17 to 265/70/17. Didn't notice any change in power, pep or fuel mileage . Considering upsizing to 285/70/17 . If so what can I expect in pep or power drop and loss of fuel mileage? Will I need to have computer adjusted for larger tires. If so would it be best to invest in a mini tazer? Thanks ?

A Jscan setup is better for programming changes, unless there are Tazer 'features' that you want to add.

Whenever you add additional weight, expect a hit to performance and MPG.

Thanks for info on jscan. Understand going to be some performance loss ,just not sure how much. Trying to make an informed decision. Thinking shouldn't drop me below stock Rubicon performance. Mine is a sport max tow. 4:10 gearing, wide axles.

You’ll be fine with 285’s and 4:10’s. There is a site that will calculate the rolling difference for you if you want to be really OCD about it. But the fact is that the Mojaves come with 285’s on 4:10’s and they are still very driveable. The prior post about weight increase is true but depending on the choices of tires it shouldn’t be too bad.

Thanks, shouldn't be much different than Rubicon. It specs out at 700 less towing than max tow. Same gearing with Dana wide axles. Not sure really like pep with 265 but like looks of 285.guess I'm like everyone else want my cake and eat it too.??

I changed from the 265s to the 285s on my 22 Overland with 3:73 ratio. Paid dealer to calibrate the tire size as I did not want a Taser or Jscan to mess with. No noticeable difference in performance and looks great.

Thanks, sure it won't be a drastic change. Like to be informed.

Did you take a hit on mpg ?
