Title says it all. I want to put 17x9's on my Overland North with 315x12.5 BFG's. I would prefer not to lift it if possible. Mostly city and highway driving. I see a thread regarding 18's and that 315's will work on an Overland. Will wheel size make a difference in my case? Is 0mm offset the way to go? And yes, I have read through the forum and now have too much info and no answers... LOL. Thanks in advance!

Do you want no poke, some poke or a lot of poke? BS in the 5.7 range (AEV is a good option here) will keep the poke to a minimum. I think I see most people run something between 5 and 4.5 BS as most lift manufacturers specify 4.5 or lower for clearance. willtheyfit.com is a good resource. You can plug in possible options and the calculator will tell you where the new setup will sit in comparison. I run 17x9 +18 (5.71 BS) and I have very little poke in the rear and a bit more in the front (Rubicon).

I have Black Rhino Chambers (17x8.5 +18mm offset) on my JT Overland with 315 KO2's. A JT Overland could run 315 KO2's based on the +18mm offset and have no rubbing on the suspension, but I'd be concerned with the height of the tire rubbing on the front fender when the front suspension is under any flex conditions.

My JT Overland with 2" Mopar lift, which actually gave almost 3-1/2" of lift in the front.

If you don't want to go the full lift path, an easy fix would be a 1.5" Teraflex spacer lift kit.

Do you have any pics of your setup and what size tyres are you running? Thanks

Sure! KMC KM100 Sync wheels (17x9 +18) with Kenda Klever RT 35x12.5r17. 1 inch Teraflex front spacer. Last one is the current setup and the only image with the Teraflex spacer.

That’s great...thanks for that!! I will be going a slightly smaller tyre (a 34/11.5r17 equivalent in Australian metric) so that will be the exact stance and poke I want! Big thanks for the pics!

I went with 35x12.5 tires and 17x9 wheels with -12 offset. About 1.25 inches outside the fender or so. Front wheels are turned a little bit, but the back gives you a good idea.

Looks really great! Why the front spacer? Were you rubbing in the front? Wouldn't a 0 offset alleviate that? Thanks for the pics!!!

To clarify, I am talking about the Teraflex level spacer. No spacers on the wheels themselves. No rubbing at all.

What’s the offset on the OEM Overland wheels? I’ve read +44 somewhere but haven’t been able to validate it.

To add on to what others are saying, it's less of the height clearance and more of the rubbing under flex. I just did the same size tire on my Overland North on 17x9 wheels with a 0 offset and I did a 1.5" leveling kit spacer in the front and a .75" spacer in the rear to make sure I had good clearance in use.
