No worry. Was curious, as I was wondering if the WK2 had done some precautions or what, as they do seem do seem a bit prone low down to e-gremlins

Ohh no. That sucks, but happens quickly. I don't love mud or water... well I do, and try to be as prepared and walk everything, I just don't want to write off or spend a ton of money if I can avoid it. Our WH (EU-WK) likes throwing serv 4wd and abs/esp codes as soon as we get it over the centre of the hubs... our gladi so far has done great, and I still am paranoid and prep the vehicle as well as I can
My JL would occasionally do the same thing, and I forded some deep water crossings. Usually cleared in under 500m as the mud/water spun off the sensors. Worse case I’d clear the code with the Tazer and all would be good.

Unfortunately the JL was plagued with gremlins after I accidentally cut the TCM bus lines running wiring through the right passenger firewall gromit.

Ohh shit. I have heard horror storyies from our local Jeep dealer, one of their guys did some electricals and also accidently stuck a tool into the wiring harness trying to pass cables through next to them in the fire wall... they replaced that Jeeps entire wiring harness, they couldnt fix it. Patched it up, but kept having issues until they swapped out the wiring harness and reprogrammed everything first back to stock and then uploaded the updates again... what a pain and costly (for the owner it was lucky the shop made and covered the mistake)

For the GC, I use Jscan (in the Gladi I also have both the Tazer and JScan, but never really use Jscan), and so far, knock on wood, I've always gotten back home or to where I was going. Last time I went a little off the beaten path and into water, the reer wheel speed sensor also failed, still got me 300+km to Hamburg. I mean it is an old car, so fine, buit I had a hospital appointment 2 days later there, and I was worried I wouldn't make it from the boonies back to the city... all's well that ends well. Adventures

Yeah, hindsight I really wished they had replaced the bus/harness that passes through the firewall. I’m pretty sure other wiring in the bus has small nicks that would short occasionally.

Jeep even made that an easy replacement. There’s a connector on each side of the firewall…
