I am going to put 35x12.50R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on my stock JT Rubicon LE Rims, no lift (yet). however I want a more aggressive outside the fender posture. Only options I can see are wheel spacers or new rims with negative offset. Anyone have any experience with spacers? My dealer recommends against it but the research I have done is they are perfectly safe as long as you use a good product and they are torqued correctly. looking to get my wheels only about an inch and a half outside the fender. assume that would require 1.5 inch spacers. not sure if the change of tire width itself from stock (about 11.2 to 12.5) will impact it much either. any advice, as always is appreciated. product reccomendations

Wheel spacers are fine. No different than running wheels with less backspacing. Go with Synergy or Spidertrax and you will be fine.

The Gladiator spacers will be the same as the JL. There is no 1.5 inch option. There is 1 5/8" or 1.75".

@robbtr1000 did you end up going with spacers on 35's? I am looking at doing the same 1.5" daystar leveling kit with synergy 1 5/8 spacers on my LE OEM rims like you. I hate to sell the LE rims as that was part of the few things setting the LE aside from others.

Make sure and buy the ones for the gladiator as the lug threads are different.

As long as you get hubcentric spacers you will be fine. I have run spidertrax for the last 2 vehicles and the quality has been great. They transfer the load to the hub flange just like the factory wheels do.

I ran spacers on 35s and on 37s with stock and aftermarket wheels. I’ve always run a narrower wheel, like stock up to 9 inch wide wheels, because it acts like a beadlock to keep the wheels seated at low air pressures off road. I also like low weight because that’s the key to not breaking or premature wear of parts.
I’ve wheeled extreme from coast to coast with spacers with no trouble at all.
As far as brand, I always used Spidertrax but it’s better to get 4 spacers, instead of just 2, at the same price. Everyone can make aluminum spacers with anodized coatings now. It’s nothing special.
Here’s my ‘07 JK on steel wheels with spacers. That was on the Rubicon Trail before they blew up the rocks to make it easier.

I think you need to be prepared for stone chips on paint and scars on plastic when you go off road. The extras with will throw mud and stones like crazy, if a lot of gravel driving or dirt trail will quickly give you custom paint decoration.
