When did the air box change?

That's what I have - REDARC controller. I had the MOPAR controller in a JT, too - and it wasn't bad, really, in the end.

Still, that box of the REDARC has to mount somewhere.
I had it in an Overland and there was more than enough room under the steering column.
There's not so much space under the column of the 25s

My 22 JL Willys, 24 JLUR and 25 JTM all had/have the airbox where it sits on top of the ambient air tube.

Is one older than the other? Jerry says his older Jeep has the same design as mine - but my 2020 and 2022 had the one piece design, the duct molded in, my 25 has the two piece design, dumps air at the right front corner where it pulls air in..
I've also noted more baffling there compared to my others, they have definitely changed something.
This air box is a @#$% to get back in place after you remove it! My 2022 just snapped right back down into place at the bottom - this one - you can't tell if it's in or not, there's no snapping and you can't feel the thing go into place like before.

I wish I could find the post I made way back, showing how my Overland air box bottom needed to line up with that port behind the grill. I recall even saying that it wasn't sealed, so water could drain back out where the air box lined up with that port in the opening behind the grill.

It means at one time I had pictures, and posted it because someone was saying "that's a really bad idea, what about water". There was a gap in there, water could flow right back out. IT wasn't a "seal", more like two ends of a tube pretty much lined up, and one of them was made into the air box, the other was screwed to the support behind the grill.

I brush silicone grease on the threads of the screws, and on the posts and rubber grommets holding the air box.

I do, too, but it's made no difference on the screws. The threads are an interference fit and will never go easily.

Interesting, at first glance my 24 (Mojave) and 21 (Willys) appear the same.
