(21 JTR, 60k on second 3.6 engine)
Some of you know when my second engine was installed, the tech made the mistake of topping up the oil with 6L but didn’t know it already had 6L in it and I did my first oil change on it and 12L drained out. The intake tube and manifold was an oily mess and the truck went in to have the top end stuff like manifold and plugs pulled out and cleaned.
Jump ahead near 60k and I had a P0305 misfire and code wasn’t stored and I was told to monitor it. I picked up a spark plug and a new coil and pulled #5 plug and we saw a troubled plug for sure and the coil was fine. I changed the plug and took a trip to BC and back and all ran great and happy. So here we are today and I know I want to change out all my plugs and when I do that, the intake manifold comes off.
Question I have is when I go through the job of pulling the intake manifold off should I change out the oil cooler, PCV and EGR too?? I haven’t located the EGR so I don’t even know if the manifold is in the way. So with knowing that all this oil was up in there making a mess of things, would the EGR have been impacted too?
And yes, I am fully aware I may have asked a stupid question.
Thanks y’all, eh.
