I see the panel of clear paint protectant on my rear fenders, and have seen a vid or 2 where ppl use this stuff to provide some protection for their door entry, or the front of their hood. I’ve used it in a few other places, like the door-shock thingy and the C-pillar, anywhere else?

Got a pic for the grill portion? I’m guessing that you’re referring to the leading edge of the hood.

And yes, I understand that I’m going to accumulate some marks/scratches from the roads and trails, but once back home I like to have clean, shiny, and perdy.

Yes, on the leading edge.
Whole grill will get bugs and crud.
There's much area of the Jeep that'll get chips underneath and on the skid plates than you'll be able to protect

I applied clear XPel film on the rocker panel areas below the doors.

Where I live, a full vinyl wrap was up over $8000. Checked with multiple places.

So I ended up only protecting the most precarious places. First, I put on weather tech mud guards. That took care of 80% of the trail trash damage. Then, I removed the factor PPF from the rear fenders and had them completely covered as they SHOULD have been from the factory. Then I did the door hinges with an aftermarket kit. Easy. If I had the $$$ I would do the grill and leading edge of the hood next. Beyond that - it's just too expensive.

I have to learn to live with the pinstripes.

Thank you for the posts/replies so far. Are there any special places that folks apply PPF to guard against scratches for cases where you might remove the doors/top? Oh - do folks use PPF to keep their grill from getting scratched when they attach a Christmas wreath to the front of their Jeep?

my goal is to keep my wife’s HA looking decent; we’re not getting trail scratches on that one.

I use Track Armour under my grill wreath. It's temporary and comes off in one piece without leaving any residue.
