Which hitch skid plate?

I’ve bent the tabs on other trucks, figured I’d give the skid a try. I’d say I’m happy with it in Moab last week. Sure it might’ve hit more than it would have without it, but when it did hit it saved damage from the hitch. I can also slide straight off a ledge and am less likely to hit my bumper.

I just picked up a WarFab Pershing. Like that it had the mount for a D-Ring and step. Appears to be super beefy...

$10 Harbor Freight hitch insert, 2" drop.

I agree with you 100%. All it seems to do is avoid minor cosmetic scratching on the bottom corner of the hitch while further reducing the departure angle.

The GoRhino seems to hang out quite a bit and is made of thin steel that is far less tough than the hitch itself.

The Warfab Sheridan appears to be super beefy and tucked in tight. So it may help to protect the bumper but it does further reduce the departure angle.

Coated my Warfab Pershing with Steel-It. Really happy with the results. So much so, I bought more Steel-It to coat my skid plates before mounting them.

The BA is ok. Works as intended but the powder coating isn't the greatest. Got this for Xmas and already rusting

I've drug a hitch, never bent one. I'm just not sure exactly what hitch skids are for, they hang lower than the hitch. So you drag on the plate as not to scrape your hitch? I don't get it. I'm obviously missing something.

You’re probably right, but I wanted a step and I would rather scratch up a skid than my hitch.
Kind of a compromise or not really necessary for most.
I’m disappointed I keep repping Warfab but they don’t seem to have them on their website anymore for some reason. They seemed like the best out there

Per their IG feed, Warfab has stopped making skid hitch plates. It was their lowest cost (margin) item and they received negative feedback and bitching about their advertised lead times. Folks were placing orders and wanting immediate shipment event though the website stated leadtimes. They made the business decision to stop production…. Glad I have mine, but pissed that the “immediate gratification”’ folks dorked it up for others. I understand the decision, but would hope folks would understand the supply chain issues going on and not force companies that support us to discontinue product.

I don’t do the Instagram, but I couldn’t find anything on their website recently. Like they never existed.
If I lost mine, I would call them and offer $200 for one. I think it’s worth double what those other ones cost.
