Now that we're finally finished with the nonsense of a Hemi not fitting in the JL/JT, which would you like to see offered? ...most likely to purchase? ...makes the most sense, IYO?

These threads are a dime a dozen. I pick the 3.6 because I don't tow and I don't need a loud engine to feel cool. That's why I bought the gladiator. I wasn't trying to be "that guy* that apparently every JT owner wants to be now. Smh

A small V-8 would be great for towing, I have no need for the big v-8 in the little jeep truck. Perhaps the 5.7 would not be bad on gas if it isn’t working as hard as the V-6.....Jeep

Totally agree. IMO the 5.7 would an ideal option for the JT.

For the record, I own a Pentastar and I like it.

The 5.7 wouldve been plenty in the jt/jl. 6.2/6.4 is just overkill and u still lose a couple hundred lb towing over 5.7. Look at Silverado, 5.3 tows more than 6.0? Silly. Bigger motor more fun, but smaller v8 more efficient overall. Especially if it came with e torque.

Agreed. I like the 3.6. Even with 37s I don't feel its underpowered. But I haven't towed anything heavy yet...

The 5.7 hands down - assuming that it came in at an appropriate price point for the 5.7 (it should be positioned between the 3.6 and the EcoDiesel). The regular truck 6.4 (410 HP and 429 lb/ft torque) would be my second choice. It would be a bit more money - but I'd still spring for it for sure. I'm not interested in the juiced 6.4 (commonly referred to as the 392) because I don't need that much power in my Gladiator, and I don't want to pay the premium for the high output 392. Same logic for me when it comes to the Hellcat.

maybe my research is wrong, but recommended octane for the 5.7 is 89 while for the 6.4 it's 87. That's why I chose the 6.4L as the best choice. I don't want to have to put high octane fuel in my truck.

FCA needs to get with the times, IMO. Give me Ford's 2.7L or 3.5L EcoBoost mated with a 6spd that can handle it. Torque for days. Great fuel mileage. Great towing.

I'll vote for the Gen 2 (7L), not because I want to be 'that guy', but because I couldn't afford one when I was in high school...

Aside from towing “comfort”, I wonder if the V8 will run up against the same max tow capacity as the diesel due to cooling. I get and love how a diesel tows, but to lose capacity at a premium is a hard option to pick. Loved the Eco in my WK2, but couldn’t make the same decision on the JT. At least the gas V8 option should be a less expensive option. All that to say, I’d be cool with the 5.7. Lol
