Lol ok. It is progression. Is it the end-all, be all right now? No. But it’s a necessary step forward to get off the fossil fuels.
Fossil fuels will be used for many years to come in third world countries where they'll never catch up in electric propulsion.

Get off fossil fuels? Hardly. What do you think powers the electric generating stations across the country? What do they use to mine the lithium needed for the batteries. What makes the plastics and tires in every car made? We won't be off of fossil fuels and the ground contaminants from the batteries will be far worse than tailpipe emissions. No I'm not against progress...just waiting for a viable answer. Electric cars as of today are not the answer. Hybrid is the answer...for today.
Yep! Totally agree.

How many by-products are made from fossil fuels? Over 6,000 items. You want to get rid of fossil fuels? Starting stripping your clothes off. Close to 100% of the clothes you have on is made with a crude by-product. The only natural material for clothing is cotton, wool, silk, and leather. And if you think there is enough of that to go around for everyone. You are sadly mistaken.

And has anyone seen a PETA member go after a Hell's Angle for wearing leather? You will have idiots like those to contend with too.

I hate threads like this. Always ends up in a debate about ice vs ev. If you want to talk about ev's. Either start a thread strictly about ev's, or go to another forum about ev's. The Gladiator has an ice motor for now. That's what we should be talking about. The OP asked about an ice motor, not an ev.

What does this have to do with the V8?
If you have an EV on the island. You're shit out of luck on getting it charged at the moment.

We was on the island about a year after the last hurricane hit them. They still had gas and diesel mobile generators running on the streets. had extension cords running everywhere.

So, nothing to do with the V8. Got it.

This thread is on the crazy train lately. I'm just waiting for it to get closed due to politics or whatever BS the forum does these days. Unfortunate that we don't actually talk about the substance of the original post anymore and go off into EV-lala-land immediately.

That almost always leads into politics, veiled or otherwise.

I was wondering that about your post, couldn't just walk past?

So, to edify you, it's a folllow-on post to the post I made about us not getting the V8, and it morphed into WHY we aren't getting the V8, and the big reason seems to be that jeep is going electric, the post about PR being with out power is directly related to the future power source we will mistakenly be forced into...

I remember when Jeep said there was no plans for a factory V8 Wrangler, then the 392 Rubicon was introduced. I would not rule out a limited production 392 Mojave since it is the closest model from Jeep to compete with the Ford F150 and Ranger Raptor. Unless Jeep decided to turbo or supercharge the 3.6 from factory of course.

OP's original post also mentioned plug in hybrid. That is about as thin of a degree of separation one can get from talking about EV's and really is in the same room. Not like he posted about lift recommendations and it fell off into retard land on EV subject.

I would have concured with you if had said Rubicon... it's set up for the weight of the V8 (DIESEL) whereas i think the added weight to the Mojave would impact it negatively (Mojave just needs forced induction)

If the administration had not gone off the deep end into the replace oil with sunlight waters, I believe there would have been some special edition V8 Gladiators.

Probably the same species that Tesla uses for the tires and all the plastic in it, possibly even the generator that provides energy to the green machines
