I have a whistle as well rpm based. When I took back to the dealer, they told me it was a “known issue” with the JT and there was a fix for it. Had to order the parts to repair. I’ll let you know if it works.

yea please do. Id have to re install the oem intake to have warranty work done on it, so a heads up would be outstanding!
Hey Matthew

Just picked up my JT from the dealer. They referenced Jeep Star Case S1823000027 which addresses the whistling issue. The receipt states:

“Customer states whistling noise from Lower Passenger A Pillar. Lowered windshield assembly to gain access to foam blocker as per Star Case #S1823000027. Replaced lower right pillar foam block. Test drove vehicle, no noise heard”

No noise on the ride home but will certainly pay attention. Hope this helps. Good luck!

How did this work out Matt? Was the foam block the issue or was it your Throttle Body Spacer?
Man I can’t remember haha

for intake noise i learned that those little chambers on the oem intake damper the natural respiration noises (whistling) from the intake. I ended up getting an afe intake with sound chambers on it. In retrospect I should have just left the oem in and gotten a performance filter from afe. The oem intake is find and a cold air intake is useless for us on its own.

i also followed a couple forum member advice and added a thin felt strip, and some foam, to the doors. %99 of random whistling wind noise is gone.

If i may ask, where did you add the felt and foam? I am always looking for cheap DIY ways to increase the quality of life of my ride.

I ran a thin felt strip just i side the door seam on the a pillar. And then removed those plastic corner pieces and put a piece of D foam along the top of that channel.

So I ran the felt, and your eyebrow panel has a lot smaller gap then mine. Not sure if you have a rubicon or not, but I had to get some 1" door trim rubber to fill that gap, but I must say it did make a difference!

One thing I also did was run a slip of paper between the door seals back and fourth to feel the resistance, obviously where the felt was installed makes a great seal but I found I could practically push the paper into the cab from the outside around the striker post for the door latch. Going to get some more felt and actually install it anywhere the door seal makes contact with body and see how that goes.

Again thank you for advice.

Glad it worked! I was just following another member on here haha so the credit goes to them. Though i can’t remember who it was

shoot some pic of where you end up with felt. I still occasionally have a whistle. I chalked it up to the felt being over a year old at this point. And that i ran tube doors only for a couple months last year. Exposing the felt directly to the weather for prolonged times. But who knows, maybe all I really need is more in other spots!
