In the same respect, a Ford Raptor is just a trim level, and so is a Dodge Power Wagon. But If you ask anyone what truck they drive they certainly aren't going to say they have a "Ram 2500" or a "Ford F-150" if they have either of those.

Rubicon indicates mechanical, aesthetic and electronic differences over the lower trim models. To a lot of people that is an important distinction, and in a lot of conversations it becomes valuable information .
Right this was my first thought, it's every car/truck. Ford Mustang... Corvette... Dodge Charger... Porsche 911...

Ultimately it's just an enthusiast thing.

Even worse is everyone referring to them as ā€œrigsā€

ā€œthis is my rigā€

ā€œwhat do you think about my rigā€

ā€œnice rigā€

I feel the same about stocks and foregrips/guards being referred to as ā€œfurnitureā€

can I also ask that people stop naming their rigs?? Ridiculous!
I'm going to take a stab at it and say you hate ducking and the Jeep Wave as well.

Why do you losers also say things like JT, JL, JLU, JK, JKU? It's a Gladiator, 2-door wrangler of the current generation, 4-door wrangler of the current generation, etc. Don't you know anything?

I don't know why but when people say they have a Jeep Rubicon, Jeep Sahara or Jeep Mojave it drives me crazy it's the trim level not the Model. Anyone else feel this way?
Nope!
They can call it anything they want.
They are probably happy with their trim level and like others to know that they bought it to meet their needs and/or wants.
I am happy for those that currently in this poor economy can afford to buy what they want in a higher trim level.
I am just blessed to own a new "JT" "Gladiator", "Sport", "S", model.

Err, I mean I own a Jeep with a small truck bed...LOL!!!

Personally the only moment when I brag with the model is when I have to go at the yearly technical inspection . When those overpaid lazy dummies start arguing saying it’s not allowed to modify this or this ….
Wait a minut butterfly … it’s a JTR launch edition US specs … only 4190 in the world and 2 in Belgium . All this is stock please don’t compare my JTR with a basic sport JT sold in Europe ?????? till now it worked .
Rest of the time … it’s a JEEP

Nope. I state Overland when I post mainly because my still stock Overland has 18" wheels (though a 17" spare?!?)

I traded a Sport S for an Overland and swapped the rims and tires and spare from one to the other.
