I don’t know if any auto maker has that window auto up feature I think it’s because of trapping kids or anything else in the window when the window is going up and not having the window auto up feature prevents that from happening
My 2014 toyota sienna has auto up on it and it is designed to drive kids, lol. I always thought the same thing till I got that car.
Our 2012 GC Overland had auto up.
How many of those vehicles have removable doors? Just wondering...

I am not a fan of auto up or down. I like to have the control over the window as much as posable. I don't see how it is a problem to hold a switch for 3 sec.
It’s not a problem. It’s just a feature that’s not on the JT for some reason. Its a very nice feature, but not a big deal. Just like power windows....not necessary, but still nice to have.

Think about it.

Want: Auto up windows
Rut roh: Auto up not available
Cause: Removable doors

Meanwhile, back to the memes

I can’t tell if your being sarcastic or not. Lol. If your saying there’s no auto up feature because the doors can be removed, then that’s bs. If your saying there’s no auto up feature because the doors are usually off anyway, then I’d say “that’s kinda funny”.

Its because the doors are removable that the auto up function is not available. It requires the no pinch parts which add complexity and worse weight. It was also never a feature on the jk and jl for the same reasons.

The doors being removable is actually to root cause so go ahead and chuckle.

I'll be chuckling about the grammar memes being on point.

If you think you can solve the problem i invite you to see what 12v stepper motors would do to the already inflated price. They would solve the prolem of auto up and auto down BUT would require teaching the doors everytime you put them back on. Pick you battles.

Ice water in hell is not necessary either and I'm sure they would beg to differ as well.

The ability to drop all 4 windows fast is very important when you need to place a grumpy spouse and two cranky kids into a hot jeep and know the AC will take a few to get moving.

I have been wondering if I could just swap the wires for up and down on the back of the switch and have auto-up. One day when I get around to pulling the door panel I may try it. My 2014 Charger has it and I'm always trying to use it on the Jeep.
so you would have auto up and manual down?

There is a thread on this forum about auto up - it’s about if/how to make that functional
