That's what I found ironic about our 2021 Grand Cherokee when we had it - with the 3.6 and that short short wheelbase, it was rated for over 6,000 pounds towing! (Wrangler has a longer wheelbase than the WK2)
I can’t complain about how it performed…. Going up hills in the Tennessee mountains, it’d struggle to keep the engine cooled. That needle would run up into the red. Going downhills…was a bit of a white knuckle experience. We had a Prodigy brake controller that we could hit the trailer brakes at anytime. That helped a lot!!

I think the more your tow vehicle weighs (in comparison to what you’re towing) makes a big difference in the towing experience. I think the Dodge Ram would’ve weighed 1000 lbs more than the Grand.

I remember we bought a 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited w/ 4.7L in it…. It was 3 years old when we bought it (2001). That thing was like driving on the clouds, it was so comfy. We bought it to tow the YJ around….. that was my hubby’s daily.
I think I was still driving an old 96 Tacoma with stiff ass re-arched rear springs and 2” lift on 32’s. 🤣
Those Tacomas are Brutal on the posterior . I would hit a bridge and that darn thing would jump to the right or left 10 inches. I cannot tell you how much I hate Toyota Tacoma's words cant not describe my disdain for them.

We towed with the WJ for a several years…. 6,500 lbs. It did OK…. but not ideal, even with the V8. Sold it to my mother-n-law and bought a 2003 Dodge Ram. The Ram made it effortless…. After about 12 years or so, clubs fell apart, people move on… We sold the YJ, the trailer, and traded the Ram in for a 2007 Tacoma.

We’ve been towing a bass boat since…. The Canyon & JT tow that load easily (3,500lbs).
I towed my TJ on a trailer behind my WJ once. That was all it took for me to decide I wasn’t doing that again. 😆

My girlfriend stole mine!

It's ok though, I don't have a wife. 😆
It must be serious….if you let her steal it….. .😆 She‘s taking it in exchange for something that’s much smaller that fits around her finger. Just sayin……😉

I owned 2 of them…. 96 and 2007. The 96 was badass….that’s what got me started in offroading. The 2007….never let me down, although…. in 2016, the frame was replaced (frame rust warranty). After being totally torn apart, it was never the same after that. Lots of clunks, rattles, found loose bolts, etc. It was time to trade it in.

I’ve always loved Toyota. Either, I’ve gotten older and expect ‘more’ or Toyota has dropped the ball on a lot of things. You just don’t get ‘as much’ for what you pay for (options, etc). They’re not keeping up with the rest of the pack…..
Would I buy another one? Maybe…. but I don’t see them catching up to the rest of the pack anytime soon. They have too many loyal followers - whom - were gathered from Toyota’s reliability & resale reputation.

Purple is known to be a symbol of wealth. I believe it is due to the process of making the color.

I think my husband would be embarrassed walking next to me if I was wearing all that purple stuff (or pink or some other wild colors). 😆 Ok…not really…but he’d give me the stink eye and roll his eyes. 🤣.

My wife has a '19 GC Ltd, as her daily driver. She loves when it has to go in for routine maintenance because she gets to drive my Overland (ordered 5/19, delivered 7/19). She loves the looks she gets when she's driving it (and she does remember to wave to other JT and Wrangler drivers, and likes getting the wave back) and, she loves driving it because it's different than her car.
Back in the day... I bought a 2012 JK "for my wife". After putting 35's on it, my 10 year old son was asking "mom, why is that guy waving at you?" She appropriately answered "he's not waving at me, hes waving at the jeep!".
