Winch for Mojave

HI folks. I have a specific question I hope someone can answer. I just bought a 2020 Mojave. (LOVE IT). But it came with a crappy plastic stock from bumper. I want a Rubicon Steel bumper for a Warn Zeon 10k winch. But I am hearing rumors that the Steel Rubi bumpers will NOT fit on a Mojave. (Something about the skid plates/ yada yada) DOes anyone have definitive proof of this? Has anyone done this? Thanks in advance.

The bumper will bolt right up; the issue is with the skid plates. You can tweak the mojave plate to fit but it won't bolt up to the bumper like the rubi plate. There are a number of threads on it if you search. Here is one for reference:

I did the swap and you have to cut the skid plate along the front fold and it bolt right back up.

I am interested to see what is the best path forward, as I just bought a Mojave, and want a Warn winch installed.

Depending on your path forward ( takeoff vs new ), if you’re into the factory look, I think I saw some factory steel bumper options, for a Mojave on the last TFL vid from 2023 ( covering 2024 jeeps in a car show ). They also had the smaller rear fender skids on the Mojave in that car show vid. So, you might be able to get something new from Mopar that will just bolt on.

There are several bumpers that require modification of the front skid. Relatively easy fix for a fab shop if you don' t feel comfortable doing yourself.

That said, some people just don't reattach the front skid. I tried this for a bit, but it left my shock reservoirs too exposed, so I had it put back on after modifying.

I just picked up this 2022 and it had a Rubicon bumper already on it so I can't speak about the install only that it will fit.

Maybe they have solved this problem already on my 2023 Mojave. The skid plate does not appear to be connected to the bumper at all.

Another issue is the weight of steel bumper plus winch plate plus winch. I kept the total to 100pounds with the Arcus and 12000 HF with steel cable vs stock plastic bumper. Dropped front 3/8 inch

I'd just get the Rubicon skid plate that comes with Rubicon with steel front bumpers. Everything bolts right on to a Mojave and the shock reservoirs fit perfect.

Curious to see the 24 Mojave since it’s now optioned with the steel bumper. Wonder if they changed the springs…

I’ve got the Arcus with 12k HF with synthetic line. I guessed that it only added 75lbs to the front of my Mojave and dropped the front 1/4” or so. Im rather happy with how it turned out, drives like it did with the factory plastic bumper .
