Is that the Mopar brush guard or an aftermarket one? Did you have to trim the winch's freespool handle?
That is an aftermarket... paid only 28.00 for it. For me, it was just for looks, so did not feel like paying Mopar prices for this item.

Looks like it went up in price. I see it now for around 36.00. This is the one I purchased:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/314054147653

And yes, I had to modify the freespool handle. Easy to cut to size.

I installed the Grimm Offroad winch plate on my factory steel bumper. No trimming or grinding was needed. It was plug and play. For wiring, I used the Warn Power Interrupt Kit and a 3D printed bracket attached to the firewall. I went that route to keep the fender space open for a future switch panel box. Lastly, I cut the front frame cover and reattached smaller wings to cover the frame. Here are couple pictures of the finished product:

Good for you, looks good,is the warn kit a power disconnect ? I tried to cut the wings but couldn't get them to look right. Good job 👍.

I am on vacation and will send pics when I return and I used the Grimm winch plate also on my factory steel bumper. You are correct, for me also it was a basic plug and play (I did have to buy some slightly longer bolts at the hardware store) but fairly simple to do. However, I don't understand why you had to do all of the extra electrical work. I just used the stuff including the power switch from HF that comes with the Apex winch. As far as routing the power, I just ran it up the passenger side under the airbox and used plastic cable ties to hold it. I will just make a little bracket (probably a piece of plastic) to attach the power switch and anchor it down a bit. Otherwise, it is a fairly simple.

I decided to use the Warn Power Interrupt Kit and tie it into my Aux Switches instead of the manual on/off switch that came with the winch. Just a personal choice is all. I also ran the cables up under the airbox and along the battery like you.

Thank you so much. When I first read it, I thought I might have missed a step but now understand what you are doing. So that allows you to operate the winch without first opening the hood.

Just a question though: With something using as much juice as a winch, are there any issues with Aux switches being able to handle that kind of load? In any case, it looks great.

Yes, this allows me to not have to get out and open the hood.

The power cutoff is a relay so there is actually minimal voltage because all it does is activate the relay to turn it on and off. Once the relay is on, the voltage flows from the battery to the winch. In my pics, you can see a small gauge yellow wire and small gauge green wire. The yellow is run to the aux switch wiring under the hood, the green is to ground. Yes, I know ground/negative is usually black in 12 volt systems but I am using the warn harness that came with the switch and the wiring and following their instructions/diagrams! Warn makes the relay for their winches so it has pretty high capacity once activated. And then when I'm done, I turn the aux switch off and the relay is deactivated = no more voltage flowing towards the winch.

I really like the use of the auxiliary switch. Can you give the warn part number of the switch?

I used the 15 amp #3 aux switch as the relay/solenoid doesn't take much amperage at all to pull in and hold. The load is through that solenoid.

American Adventure Labs makes a bracket for the switch that goes in the engine compartment. It goes right where you pulled the wire out from under the airbox.
