How’s that Safelite windshield holding up? I just replaced my OEM with one.
I don't see where he said it was a Safelite windshield - he did say it was Gorilla Glass that Safelite replaced.
Safelite will replace with OEM MOPAR in most cases unless it's you paying and you request a cheaper glass.

Funny seeing this thread tonight… I’ve just become snake bitten with the dreaded windscreen crack for the first time in 4 yrs of Gladiator ownership (across 2 of them). I was wondering how everyone felt about Safelite since that’s whom I usually use.

Good point, I’m pretty sure they just replaced with OEM Mopar on mine then. I paid cash since my deductible was higher than the cost.

I’ll just increase my following distance on the highway and keep a 4 leaf clover on the dashboard.

I won’t be able to report much since I don’t really get on the highway very often. Driving to Montreal later this year but that’s really about it. Fingers crossed the windshield survives that trip though.

If you are going through insurance, safelight will replace with what your Jeep came with from the factory- if it’s gorilla, they replace with gorilla, if it’s standard they replace with standard.

That will allow the space for someone to cut in. Windshields are replaceable, so no need to worry.

So far the safelite Gorrilla glass holding up well. It’s gorilla glass that safelite got from their warehous. Factory glass. It would of never broke if I didn’t get on fresh chip seal gravel probably 3 inches deep.(thank you Colorado). Usually they do one side at a time and have a vehicle you follow one side at a time. Well not on this time. 2 lanes 65 mph and deep. Tractor trailer coming other way nailed me half way off the shoulder of my lane. I should of put a claim in to Colorado. This can’t be legal ? It was end of day and they probably just wanted to get home ?

I had mine replaced last Friday at Safelite. Afterwards I noticed much more wind noise like a window leak going down the highway. Taking it back on Monday as asking for a test drive. I did notice on my passenger side where it was coming from that the right corner windshield bolt was loose. Tightened it but didn't change anything. Also there's a gasket near the window and paint that was folded back in a few places. See if that changes anything once straightened out.

20K miles, got a pebble chip , which fractured into a crack. Vehicle was purchased new from dealership I'm taking it to for the warranty repair 4/22....so i am within the 2 year period.
Dealership denied warranty coverage on the windshield stating that windshields sold on the vehicle as an option only have the lesser of 12k miles/1 Year warranty on the windshield. The service manager would not budge and insisted that warranty coverage for this was not an option.
Just finished up a chat with jeep wave, who did not state the dealership was wrong(gave me a "canned line" that the dealership determines warranty coverage), but she did actually escalate the matter to someone higher up whom she said woudl be in contact with me.
My dealership can do the repair as they were more than happy to do the replacement for a new windshield if I paid ~$2K cash for it ($1,330 windshield plus 450 labor plus 225 calibration).
Stay tuned for resolution.

Geesh, if you are paying, get safelite - they'll do OEM for less.

Safelite quotes me at $170 to fix a small chip. That seems high..?

Also, this Jeep windshield vulnerability thing is no joke. I've of course read about it, but figured "I'll never be that guy who goes through windshields like that". ...I'm only at 4k miles.
