Hey there,

I want to say that I am a complete novice and am open to learning.

So a year or so ago I bought Vision X Rock lights at an event and finally got around to installing them but I ran into some issues that maybe someone here can help with.

I wired them up to aux 1 and that worked find however the AUX button would not turn on the lights, they had to be manually turned on via the control module button.

At this point I was annoyed and thought well, I don't need them to be wireless or strobe effewct, I just need rock lights that can be controlled with the AUX 1 . So i cut the control module out and wired directly to my AUX power.

lol now they don't power. Just to be clear, they worked when the control module was installed, stopped work when directly wired to the AUX 1.

IF I need to use the control mobile to "turn" the lights on then its pointless because it lives under the hood of the Jeep and there is no way I'm popping the hood each time I want the lights to turn on. Useless product for me.

At this point I'm unimpressed with the product. IS there anything I can do to go around needing the control module to use them or am I out of luck?

What you should have done was to have it hooked up to your Aux switch, but turn the controller on and leave it on under your hood.

I tired that. The control mobile would reset with everytime the truck was turned off, so I would have to open the hood everytime I needed rocklights and keep the truck running.

That sucks, so it's not a physical switch.

Did you make sure you didn't blow the Aux 1 fuse?

That’s likely because you didn’t configure the aux switch to work without ignition. If you setup the aux switch to work all the time, and not remember the last state, it should work fine.

Hmm.. I will try rewire it and see if I can do that.

It’s not a wiring change. It’s a setting in the vehicle settings from the radio.

I know, I meant I need to wire the module that I cut out back in. Then check.

But I still don't understand why it can't just run direct.
