Wasn't the Gladiator best on one of their surveys? 2020, IIRC? They are all over the map.

That is a Great Question.. they do publish publication #s .. which include all those in public libraries, those on the bookstore shelf at the airport and ultimately become trash or fire starters.. OH.. that glossy paper sucks at starting fires in the fire pit/place.

I have a digital subscription. Its invaluable. I use it about 3 or 4 times per year. Go try to find a decent review of a refrigerator, or a toaster or a coffee maker. They are all biased.

CR buys their stuff retail and tests it with a documented protocol. They are the best at what they do.

But they don't do impractical vehicles very well. Like I said before, they would ding a Ferrari for a high trunk lift over height. Just like they will ding a jeep for a loud interior, poor ride, and bad fuel economy. (all of which are correct)

I didn't but my Mojave because of any reviews. I bought it because that's what I WANTED. There it's e way too much influence in this world from someone that sits behind a computer screen. It's a Jeep you take the doors off and have fun. Yes the gas sucks but so did my previous 5 SUV.

Consumer Reports have had their share of "issues" over the years. Got caught a couple of times fixing the results of a few tests. Since that, I have never trusted them.

CR is what it is. It won't actually tell anyone enough information to buy a vehicle. Jeep loyalist are just a different screw loose breed. I use CR as a starting point for brands / models with high reliability ratings for appliances etc and it is pretty useful for that. Any rag, or anyone on these forums, who thinks for a minute you are going to hit the nail on the head with your automobile review are wildly delusional.

Every year they rate Jeeps at the bottom, but consumer satisfaction is near the top. Go figure.

I absolutely hate cars, they are a necessary device to get you from point a to point b, nothing more...

That is until I got my Gladiator, I LOVE THIS VEHICLE, underpowered warts and all. This is the 1st car I have actually cared about and I am and old fart!!!

I’m confused, it’s received the lowest ranking due to reliability issues on 3 model years? Where is this metric coming from? I’ve got a hard copy subscription I get as a gift every year but admittedly I don’t pay much attention unless I’m buying something smaller like an appliance, etc.

I know a Honda would be a great practical choice. But I would never get excited to drive it. Never.

My report is the only one that matters! Completely happy driving my brick on wheels. Makes me happy just starting up my Ecodiesel and letting it idle for a few and then feeling the grumbling of it as I pull up the on ramp!

I mean there was this one or three issues on my way to work today …. But I wouldn’t trade my jeep nope!! So it goes in tomorrow for like the 7th trip for warranty work….
