The day I brought my LE home I noticed there was a slight wobble \ vibration. I figured it was a wheel that was out of balance. I took it back to the dealer and they gave me the round around. After some harsh words and diplomacy they agreed it had an issue and they said they fixed it by rebalancing the rear wheels ( I posted about this part before). Long story short they didn’t fix it. I mentioned this to an old friend of mine. His friend runs a wheel and tire shop that has some high end balancing equipment and he suggested they look at it. Today they did look at it. They said the problem was the static balance of the tires was off But the rims were fine. They said it was probably due to the car sitting a long time. This makes sense. I got a launch edition in late December. I’m not sure when those came out but I bet it was there since at least September. When I bought it the sales guy mentioned he had to put “ a lot” of air in all the tires. So this thing was sitting with low air in the tires for so long the tires went out of round. The shop said the front two Tires are real bad the rear are so so . He also said a standard balancing machine cant pick this up. I did’t get everything he said exactly but the gist was you need an expensive machine and a very good tech to figure this out. I can’t blame the dealer for not having that machine but since they don’t i can’t imagine how hard it will be to convince them that these tire are no good and need to be warranted. Any suggestions on how to deal with this would be greatly appreciated. I really don’t want to have to leave my truck several times and go back and forth with some guy telling me there isn’t something wrong. This might be an excuse to go to 35s but I really like the stock tires, that’s part of the reason I got the LE.

Your tires did not "go bad" sitting on them. You won't convince the dealership they are bad and should be warranted because the truck sat on them, because it didn't hurt them.

Radial tires generally do not flat spot much sitting on them for any period, and a trip down the road to warm them up will correct whatever minor amount of flat spot they may develop.

The tires may in fact have problems, may in fact be flat spotted from a skid, but the didn't flat spot because the truck sat on them. If there is perceptible flat spotting in the tread, measure the area of the flat spot and surrounding tread for a difference in tread depth, if one is measurable it is a skid most likely.

Bias and diagonal ply tires of old would flat spot temporarily, modern radial tires do not.

Road force balancing? VERY few places around here have that and can do it. It detects a lot more than imbalance.

I've not seen tires go from sitting for just 4 or 5 months. Some of my cars over the years have set longer.
Most of the people I know who show cars bundle the cars up in zippered covers and they sit - 5 months.
Tires getting flat spots are pretty slim these days. Reproduction RWL tires, polyglas, yeah.
Not saying there aren't problems with those tires and it sounds like there really are - but from sitting - not in this age.
I've never owned any that did - otherwise I'd have a thump thump or vibration after taking my cars out of storage, as would most of the show car world.

I have no idea if the cause of the issue was from sitting. I agree it seems crazy but that is what the guy at the shop guessed it could be from. Sine they were sitting with low tire pressure maybe its possible. Maybe they were just made defective. I really don’t care if aliens shot a ray gun at them. I just p!ssed I bought a brand new truck and it doesn’t have round tires!

I don't believe any tires are truly round.

What pressure are your tires set at now?

I didn't realize there were still LEs to be found on lots. I'd have tracked one down and made a deal. Love my Sport S, but still.

At least 2, perhaps 3, on a Des Moines lot.

I never even thought to look. Disappointed with myself. Almost purchased a Rubi, but it sold the day before I got there. It was stripped and a stick, but I didn't care. I enjoy driving a stick. No buyers remorse, but man, still wish I'd though to look around.
