Went from this:

Note the Tacoma in the background. I had that truck for the last 7 years. Put 200k miles on it all over the west. Knew I wanted a gladiator and knew I wanted a similar overland set up. Had to buy new decked drawers. But with a few spare parts ordered from Leitner. I ported my bed rack and tent to the new gladiator.

Still need to add the OVT 270 awening.

She does seem to squat a bit with the extra weight. Next step lift.

If anyone is wondering, yes this set up is expensive. But i put 100ish thousand miles on the Tacoma with thousands of miles of dirt with the rack and tent and it’s held up great, so I moved it over the the gladiator. Highly recommend

Looking forward to camping like this in the new gladiator…(this is my previous truck with the bed rack and RTT)

So it looks like you lost your rake, how rough is the ride? Are you planning on a suspension upgrade and if so what do you recommend? Looks good but did you lose power etc? What gears do you have?

Just curious because I am jealous, and I have 3.73 gears so worry about added weight

Are we just gonna ignore the random bison roaming down his street? 😲

One of the perks of living and working in Yellowstone. The cat also finds the wildlife entertaining.

Of course the negative is that I was one of the federal employees that got fired illegally then reinstated and now the federal government is not a quite the stable job that it used to be. But we’re enjoying the wildlife and spring weather for now!

To be honest I literally haven’t driven it. I will likely lift it soon and add heavy duty rear springs. If not I will at least add heavy springs in the meantime.

Pfffttt... In Florida we treat alligators as if they are our neighbors, they were probably out just taking a walk... Just a normal day.

Nice! I have an almost identical setup. Leitner rack and boxes, rotopax, decked drawer, hard shell wedge tent, and a CVT 270 awning. I ended up adding air bags in the rear to help with the extra weight.

Which air bags? I was going to look into that. As long as the don’t screw with flex off-road that is

Curious about the Decked drawer. How dry does everything stay? Can you really put heavy gear on it without damaging it? I have been eyeballing that since I bought my first gladiator

I had decked drawers in my Tacoma for years before this. And the camping set up lived in there permanently, ready for adventure. Kept everything dry. Stuff in the drawer would get dusty but never wet. The new design is supposed to be a little better about that. The system had a 1000 lb load limit on top. I can’t attest to that, but I have put a fair bit of weight on it. Just top got scratched up, but has held up great.

A word of caution is in the decked drawers for the gladiator leave only a few inches of space to the top of the bed, so you have to be careful about tying anything down you put on top so it doesn’t rocket through the back window.
