Tiny pinhole ends a mighty 35...

There goes $400. I'm assuming since this pin/spring is on the shoulder my newish tire is shot? So tempting to sell the other three and spare and get 37s. I'm geared to 4.88 already so... Such a shame that a pinhole literally killed a big expensive tire...

**EDIT** After getting pics and wear measurements, Falken is covering replacement. Said don't bother plugging it. Discount tire is on my Sh*t list for gulit tripping over their road hazard warranty and trying to make me buy a new one. Considering they sold me this set I feel like they should know the Falken warranty. I spoke with a manager at least.

It's leaking if that's what your asking but it's a tiny gauge wire/hole. No one will repair it at least the two big retailers I went to. You thinking a plug kit? I don't know options so pardon my ignorance on this.

If the shops won't help then yes, I'd plug it (YouTube taught me). If it still lost air, then I'd look to change it.

I appreciate this flies in the face of accepted practice but each to their own.

Find a small independent tire shop ? or a shop that does 4x4’s utv’s etc….

Big chains can be convenient for price competition but a good small shop will help you a lot more for stuff like this.

Apparently that was extra when I bought them, they never mentioned it then. $30 per tire at the time based on what the manager said today.

Edited to 4.88, realized it right before I read your post. I'm going over to my off-road place tomorrow and see if they will plug it, thanks for the suggestion.

Definitely try a plug first. It's close but I believe that should fix you up. Keep an eye on the pressure after repair, pour some water on it to check the plug and go from there. Best of results to you.

Definitely looks repairable to me. It's not in the sidewall, it's in the tread

I just had a small nail found in my tire basically in the same zone as yours. I didn't even know it was in there. Discount Tire patched it up for me quickly.
