Times like this I wish I could see the old parts. Not that I am necessarily better or know more, but a different set of eyes, or a different direction coming in can make a different if nothing else.I don't know. I'm still in this hell. They replaced gears again and same noise. The old bearing had funny wear on it. I will get more details when I go back to the shop. Very frustrating. I need my truck to take a trip and I can't use it. 3.73 were not bad enough with 35s to put up with this shit.
I'd approach it from the outside, no history, no horse in the race, no sacred cows.
I can't even believe I could possibly say this, let alone think it, but if not for my health things going on and loving being retired so much, at times I wish I was still working in a shop - seeing, learning, and being in the middle of some of this stuff.
