It doesn't appear there are many of us around. I'm in the same boat. I considered doing a rubicon and removing all the flash and basically converting it into an overland but keeping the bits that make it a rubicon. Sounded like too much work and would likely backfire on resale anyway.

I also like LSD far better than lockers. The LSD gets used in 100% of my driving where I'd never activate the lockers either, so I'd be running open diff. This means more cost more complication for something that is less effective for my driving habits.

Don't get me wrong lockers are awesome and i love them for off road applications. My jeep just won't ever go those places. It pounds the pavement to and from work, and occasionally sees a grassy field. I can't help that I'd rather off road on an ATV than a vehicle.
I didn't buy a Rubi for the flash, but I had to buy it to get the components I wanted. I would have chosen an Overland or High Altitude and built that, but even my cost and time to due that was more than the cost of the Rubi even after tossing the suspension in the dumpster! I built out every model and kept coming back to the Rubi as the best choice.

I think if a guy could get the swaybar disconnect, elockers, and larger fenders on all models.......Rubicon probably would sell a lot less. Not like we need the 4:1 tcase with a 4.7 first gear in the auto trans. The OE Fox shocks suck especially on the diesel, so they hit the dumpster. Who cares about the hood and stickers?

I could almost stomach a stupid amount for a new JT (almost) if when I had an issue I went to the dealer and they said "hey, no problem - it may take a few days, take this piece of crap and drive it for a couple of days while we fix it" and actually fix it without any whining or the run-around, and fixed correctly.

Or even better, just put gas, tires, and inspection on it for the first 5 or 6 years

100% agreed. The dealerships whine and cry about having to deal with setbacks and hardships... while we're begging to fork over thousands of dollars for the privilege of buying from them instead of directly from a factory. And instead of upping the customer service or otherwise trying to make the hard times feel better, they deflect and price gouge. Never let a crisis go to waste I suppose.

No loaners? Why not put someone in a used vehicle you just accepted for a trade? Better than having to pay daily rental fees for months at a time isn't it? They'd be happy to sell it to you while you wait for the repairs to be completed, I'm sure.

It was $110 price difference from a fully loaded 22 Rubicon to a fully loaded 23 Rubicon. If it wasn’t for Gupton I don’t think I would be buying my 23. $68,770 is just too much, honestly $61,323 is still crazy.

Not sure why but I couldn’t build my configuration with the 2023 site. Says cold weather package isn’t available with the automatic transmission…? Anyone else getting that?

Still, it’s about 4K over what sticker was on my gladiator (2020 JTR)

I built mine on the website for the 2023 model year just to compare. Looks like the MSRP went up $1,000. Not as bad as I thought. I ordered my 2022 after the January price increase and took delivery in March.

Well, I guess the increases will help prop up the values at trade in time! ?

Add the auto trans first and then go back and add the cold weather package.

23 will be an abysmal sales year for the Gladiator. Maybe Jeeps way of killing any R&D for an update in 2027. Likely the refresh in 24/25 will be last significant changes.

Being in Logistics I get to talk to a lot of different folks. This will go on until things break. Everyone I talk to in their industries is pretty much trying to milk things for everything they can get and by that I mean they know its a crazy market. They have prices very inflated and will continues to push to increased cost as high as they can get and make as much money as they can until it blows. There is no concern for anyone other than themselves and their companies. They get charged more from the folks on top of them and so on. All along the chain you are seeing it and will continue to see it., If you have crazy deep pockets or your ok with going into mega debt to get stuff more power to you. I know 3 people that were looking to get JT but have bowed out and are just sticking with what they are driving in the hopes that one day the market will come back down. But don't count on that anytime soon.
It's coming down hard already, jeep is throwing $3500 rebates on top of discount!

Not surprising at all - Inflation running at 15% a year - prices will continue to rise.
Where does the 15% come from? Even the Eurozone is 9%.

☹

Wtf. I've been saving to get an Overland with the manual, thinking I had some time before the whole thing was axed..

And now I read this!

Looks like my day is ruined
A quick search on True Car showed 17 Overlands w/mt available in the United States. Not sure if there are logistical problems getting one back across the border, but there are a few out there if you can act fast.
