I hated it when I first got my JT and thought the people who said "you don't notice it after a while" were dumb. Well, it's been a while and I don't notice it anymore...
i don’t notice it either. doesn’t bother me having it. if i really was engine back before light goes green i just pull foot slightly off brake. again don’t even notice it so used to it

There's proof from independent research showing it DOES save fuel. My wife and I have both found the same. It works. Edmunds says their testing showed 7%-10% fuel savings - the savings obviously depend in the individual driver, the vehicle, but most of all, the driving conditions (city vs. rural, a lot of stops vs. a few and so on)
There have been other tests done by other entities that have proven it DOES save fuel.
Time to research instead of knee-jerk reactions like hate of what's not understood.
Yeah, but I wonder how objective those independent researches actually were. Not in the sense of their research process, but rather the geographical regions.

What I mean is, to say it saves 7-10% if their research only included vehicles in major metropolitan areas would be a huge difference if they said the average 7-10% savings was equal across the nation.

I say this because for me personally, I can easily drive 2 or 3 hours on the highway just to get to a grocery store, or a major town.... And then while in said town, there may only be a dozen or so times I stop at a red light or stoplight.

So it would be nice to know the full context of how this fuel savings is researched and calculated. I think that would be an important part of the study findings.

I have trust issues with the starting system, as a young adult I worked on my/others cars that were usually on the older side, there were multiple times where I found the starter motor/solenoid being an issue. This is among the reasons I rather have it disabled. In AZ I keep it at max cold so it is disabled for most of the year.

People Work?
I wouldn't give a blanket pass to them to refuse coverage on any electrical issue because the battery was removed and or bypassed.
They'd have to demonstrate that the failure was related to the battery deletion.

Totally unfounded assumptions, but I feel like it’s a bad design for the diesel motor. My wife has the wrangler 2.0 and it feels so easy to start. With my diesel, it feels like more torque is needed to get through a compressions cycle. Do that at every light and it just feels like a problem waiting to happen.
Again probably an unfounded assumption but like someone has already said, it’s probably just because I don’t know.

At least it can be shut off for those who don’t care for it.
Count your blessings I guess.
This. MDS on the Hemi made a programmer the first thing I bought for my Charger after an exhaust.

I make it a habit of hitting that ASS every chance I get...

Run / ASS / Shifter in one fluid motion

It's become a natural, unnoticed operation just like checking mirrors and blind spots.

Having the EcoDiesel , I don't want it shutting off and on needlessly.

IMHO , diesel engines don't respond well to this regimen.

Sadly, both of my parents, my grand parents, all aunts and uncles are gone, and my brothers are younger so I can't really say when my ASS was first used.......... Mom would have known, she seemed to make notes on everything, I'd bet including first diaper changes.

I trust the people smarter than me have designed the system to function for a specific reason with zero negative impacts. I've had start/stop in a few vehicles and my previous etorque ram had it which was a much more smoother transition but it doesn't bother me. I don't get the negativity of this feature...maybe to someone who's never had it and isn't used to the shutting on an off...who knows
One of the main deciding factors in choosing the JTRD was I absolutely didn’t want the etorque, which all JL’s came with at the time. I was also told the JT 3.6’s were headed that way as well.

I didn't have any issues with my etorque ram but I read some horror stories on the forums. Of course you'll only hear the negatives there. I do like how my jt is fairly basic.
It’s just a mental block for me. Something else to go wrong, and when it comes to the battery pack, we’re all hearing horror stories as to how much those things cost and that’s just for road bound vehicles not off-road vehicles where they’re more susceptible to getting damaged.

I always turn it off since it gets hot here and I like to be as comfortable as possible.
That's really my only complaint: during the summer the AC compressor also turns off since the motor (and serpentine belt) stop driving the compressor.

I have a 6MT and the moment I even think about touching the clutch it starts right back up. By the time my foot hits the floor it's like it never turned off in the first place.
