Just that I know of. They pried my dash out and also tampered with the ignition. Somehow this fried the battery and the security anti-theft shut down the engine. $400 for a new battery fixed the issue.

Tried to get it in to the Jeep dealer here, a "two week wait" just to get an appointment to get the dash put back in correctly.

I have two GPS units in the vehicle; One that is easy to find, one that is hidden. I also have to put the club on it any time it is parked. The last attempt- my employee borrowed my ride and ran into CVS to get something and when he came out someone had messed with the ignition and the JT wouldn't start. These are professionals boosting these jeeps- to have the confidence you could boost a ride while someone runs into CVS tells me these people have it down to a science.

To make matters worse, my top has been tampered with as well. They broke plastic pieces on the top trying to pry in. Looks like i'll have to upgrade to a hard top.

Here are my mods, and why I think I'm being targeted:

Magnuson supercharger (nothing but problems, fyi)
Line X Sprayed
2.5 in Rough Country lift with 20 in Fuel rims/35's
Tyga roll bar
Alpine system
DV8 fenders, bumpers, tube doors, all custom sprayed
Rough country 5th rim mount for truck bed w/ full spare

I have two JL audio 10's and speakers to upgrade the jeep sound system, but the problem now is I don't see a point in installing any of it unless I can secure this somehow.

I suspect these are being stolen not for the jeep itself, but so they can part out the aftermarket parts and sell them. Everyone be careful out there! I'm in Tampa, FL and I know this group is operating here and has already stolen several Jeeps. I have to put the club on it every night and now probably everytime I park the thing. I can't enjoy it because people keep f'ng with it. Thinking of parking it in a lot and watching from another vehicle and maybe knee capping some mf's. Very frustrating.

The worst part is the dealer here (Jerry Ulm Dodge) is literally the worst Jeep dealer in the country. Their service department hung up on me four times when I tried getting an appointment. Ferman Jeep wasn't much better. Claims they don't have any service techs right now "Due to covid and the hurricane".

Funny, they never told me i'd have these problems when they sold me the thing.

Your aftermarket parts aren't worth anything to be honest. You're also rolling on tube doors so everyone can see in and get in without breaking a lock... strike 2.

Is English your second language? Because I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what you just typed.

Its probably less about your mods and more where you are in Tampa. I'm assuming you are in some of the less savory areas as I've got family members that live and work throughout the bay area who've not had issues in 30+ years.

Also try contacting Alex from Jerry Ulm, the wife and I have always gotten in within 1-2 days for our warranty work and Jerry Ulm is extremely off roading friendly. They're honestly the only dealer I'll take mine to in the area.

I get that running door-less is fun, but at the end of the day…doors are like locks. They “keep honest people honest” and keep lazy and/or opportunistic thieves from having easy access to a vehicle.

I can’t process someone still running around without doors when someone (clearly incompetent if Gladiators are as quick and easy to steal as folks have indicated here) has already tried to steal it twice.

I’m sorry but these are not professional thieves.
1. A professional would have a code reader box and be away with your ride in under 30 seconds.
2. A professional wouldn’t be breaking plastic pieces on top of the door trying to pry things to get in
3. A professional wouldn’t be ripping the dash apart to try to start it

A CO2 extinguisher and hammer will break the Club lock. No need to damage steering wheel

Sounds like you have some low life’s in the areas you frequent

I also have 2 siblings who live in Tampa, one for 50 years and one for 2 years...They never complain about crime (of course crime levels are mostly/not always neighborhood dependent).

Sad all around you should be able to own a nice car without constant threat of theft...

The Jeeps are a thief-magnet in and of themselves (for obvious reasons), something Jeep should improve on.

Yea, no system is fool proof, but making it easier for the theft is not acceptable to me.

Keep fighting! I take it you do not have a garage? How about a motion detector which is connected to an alarm in your house? Or a guard dog who might detect someone outside?

Keep the faith!

I 100% agree. Thank you!

With that said, I never take my JT into the city. Nope.
