I put lots of miles on my vehicles and my 25k miles on my JT were nice but after test driving JL rubi with 2.0.....I was sold. The JL Rubi , skytop and 2.0 turbo.....is butter. The turbo moves the Rubi so much better and I guess losing the extra weight of the JT also makes a diff. Maybe I will consider a JT when they remove that torque less penastart......that engine just doesn't fit the JT. Hopefully the new V6 turbo makes its way into the JT. I'm still in the JEEP family and love my new JL. Thanks for all the info everyone provided in this forum.

Not sure why.....that engine makes the Rubi feel like a quick go kart. My JT felt heavy and slow......

I guess it depends on what you want out of it. I don’t plan to run any races with it, so I find the JT suits me perfectly as is. It feels way peppier than the Tacoma I traded in for it at any rate.

I have the same feeling driving the JT. That’s comparing to a JLU sport with 3.45 gears and heavy 34s. The JT is a max tow with 4.10s, and light 35s. I have no problems with either though. Both feel like lambos compared to the 4.0 TJ with a 3spd auto ??

The 2.0 has like twice the torque at normal rpm’s so it’s much more usable, even though the peak torque of pentastar isn’t that much lower.
Wife’s 2.0JLU feels like a race car compared to JT. But I use my bed so it works. Too much kid crap!

I got the best of both worlds. I got the '20 JT Overland and my wife loved "borrowing" it so much she got a JL Sahara with Skytop. Now I get to drive both, but prefer the ride of the longer wheelbase JT.

I loved my 2.0 JLU. It was quick and got pretty good mileage (for a Jeep). I timed it 0-60 @ 6.3 seconds. I'd buy a JT with the 2.0.

I hate the 2.0 turbo. Wait until you put larger tires on it. That's when it really sucks but to each their own I guess. My buddies kicking his self for not getting a 3.6 in his wrangler now that he has 35's on it.

I feel ya, same here. I drove one on 37's and forget about it. My JT Max Tow on 37's would smoke a 2.0 on 37's
The turbo lag off the line in even a normal drive off 'oh hey you're turbo assisting now wtf' and the annoying leaf blower whine of the electric assist were gross. I don't personally drive my Jeeps for acceleration so if OP loves a laggy 2.0 with a whiny electric assist and it gets his jimmies going then go for it.

I will take the pentastar every time.

For me it was gross and would never buy any Jeep if it required that setup. I don't care what acceleration numbers are it drove like dog shit IRL.

I still don’t get the hate for this engine. It’s not fast by any means, but do ppl forget they bought a jeep that’s also a pick up truck? Compared to my 4.0 tj it’s night and day. You didn’t buy a sports car. The 8 speed paired with the 3.6 is very smooth. I need to stop reading these posts, but I always click into them.
