I think this leaked slide affected Goodyear's tire sales.
?‍♂ Could be a reason ?‍♀
I know when it occurred, a bunch of car enthusiasts that support Law Enforcement swore they would never buy tires from them again on a wide variety of car forums and social media.

The last set of goodyears I had on my jeep had 3 sidewalls bubble, so I won't use them. Those did not handle airing down and being flexed on rocks
There are probably a lot of people that would buy Goodyears based on this. Numerically it's probably a wash. Your experience with the sidewalls is a more relevant input. I won't buy Pirellis for that reason after a sidewall blew driving down a city street.

Maybe but I am not debating that, just providing some pertinent information to the discussion.

I am done with Yokohama's for a similar reason. The G303s were a great all around tire and fantastic for Rock Crawling, but then I blew out a sidewall in 2rd gear, 4LO going maybe 10mph.
I hit a rock on an access trail. 1500 miles on the tire and Yokohama would not warranty it.

They told me I must have hit something. I said I did, and I have 9 witnesses as to what it was, where it was and how fast we were going. I also pointed out that this is how they advertise them.

So buyer beware. The above is not true and Yokohama will not stand behind their product. I sold the remaining 4 and upgraded to 37" Maxxis Creepy Crawlers.

General Motors has them factory installed on certain trim level pickups.
They came factory on my dad's '20 Silverado Trail Boss. The noise and vibration they developed at 20-something thousand miles is unacceptable.

Granted, I don't know how if he's been doing proper pressures or rotations.

They came on my buddies Bison zr2 Colorado as well. They seemed OK on road anyway, but by the time we had driven from Syracuse to Kansas city they were fairly loud. He swapped to ko2 there before we went to UT and they were much quieter.

Can't speak to offroad performance though as he never had it offroad before swapping.

I ran the 35's on a 2010 JKUR and my son runs 31x10.50x15's on his 2005 S10 ZR2 Blazer. Great tire. No complaints

I'm running them. So far so good. I'm actually surprised how quiet they are on road.

Offroad, they rip into the dirt like tracks, tried to break them free a few times just messing around and they had too much traction, they just grab and sling you, so I quit doing that...
I've crawled up 2-3' rock walls fully inflated(near the start of the trail, hadn't got around to deflating yet) that I've seen Youtube videos of guys taking multiple runs and spinning out on(obviously line choice is a factor there).

Curious to see how they do in the winter, but so far I have no complaints, especially offroad. They are e rated 10 ply tires(2 ply sidewall), so you're not going to confuse them with a luxury soft and quiet riding road tire. They're a tad stiff and not whisper quiet, but as long as you go in knowing that, they're definitely not obnoxious on road.

I had them on my Xterra. I thought they didn’t good off road on dirt, rocks and in deep snow (off-road), but god awful in the rain (asphalt).
According to my Discount dealer, they said that's why Goodyear produced the Ultraterrain, and I can attest to their agility in the rain. They also have the four peak ice/snow qualification. Having said that, the Ultraterrains are only available through Discount, but I've had them in ice, snow, heavy rain, and rock crawling, and they are better in my experience than TA/KOs and Duratracs. I used Ultraterrains on my TRDPro as well.

I work for the blimp company and have been asking for 37+ duratracs. I have 35's on my rubi now with 17k miles, they've been great, did really well last winter. I don't work in a technical function but have been told a bigger size(s) may be coming. Though with Cooper being acquired, I don't know if that will change things.

Between the tread life warranty, 3PMS rating, true-to-size specs on 35s, light weight and USAA discount, I’m having a hard time NOT ordering them. I keep looking for reasons to go with Nitto or Mickey Thompson, but I keep coming back to the Duratracs.

I see practically no severe winter weather since I live in Texas, but I like knowing it’s there if we ever have a bad storm or if we travel somewhere colder.

I'm running mine at 38 psi. Treadwear is even and my mpg, well who gives a shit, that's what my tesla is for....

For anyone reading this, I have 20% off coupons for any Goodyear brand tires, send me a PM if you're interested.

I ran Duratracs on my OBS 7.3. In all sorts of terrain. Never ripped a sidewall. They excelled in traction in any condition. I ran them on nearly every work truck my group had which sees upwards of 50,000 miles a year 50/50 road/dirt. Never had a problem with any of them other than the occasional nail puncture.

Recently switched to KO2’s on my TJ. I absolutely hate them. Theyre loud, bouncy (even aired down to 30), and feel dangerously slippery in rain. They are the worst tire I have ever had. Even worse noise and rain traction than the old Cooper STT Pro’s. No clue why theres such fanboy crowd for them.

But considering what someone said on this thread not sure I will get any more of the Duratracs. Maybe these falkins on the JTR will be surprisingly great!

Very generous! For anyone not aware, USAA members get 30% off by first signing into USAA and then going through their perks portal.

I ran one set on my JK. They seemed to perform fine, but I did have 2 sidewall failures…one was a stick. Didn’t want to use them again after that.
