Another vote for the Desert Does It Shorty Front Seat Jackers. I'm 6' 3" and was skeptical at first, however, I couldn't drive without them now. They don't raise your head, they tilt the seat slightly back improving support for your legs. I ended up also ordering the MMP to mount my flashlight and holster. I couldn't be happier.

Wow seems like this is one of those rare instances I'm glad I'm short ??ā€ā™‚ I find the seats in mine great, even after 12+ hours straight. I'm 5'7" on a good day

Of my 4 vehicles, the Jeep is the most comfortable for long drives for me. (5'11" and a fat bastard) Way more comfortable than the Recaro seats in my wife's Audi for long trips. Close 2nd would be the seats in my son's subaru, which I drove from KC, MO to Austin just a few weeks ago.
I swear by the dead pedal too.
We had a Bronco Sport for <6 months, seats were so uncomfortable, we had to trade it in. They use the same seats in all of their smaller SUV/CUVs, including the Lincoln line-up and the Jaguar
F-Pace. Same seats, different coverings.

I bought the seat jacker it didn't work out for me I'm 6'1 or so, it put my head on or into the roof bar. But for long drives I found a folded and rolled towel set on front edge of seat under my legs works for me. I would like to try the "Seat Slammer" where it lowers the back of the seat but I didn't want to cut back off seat mounts to try it, then find out it's not for me. I did have to put head rest in lowest position to make it more comfortable but not best position if I get hit in rear-end collision. That dang "What If thing" I worry about.... probably due to being hit in 1999 by a drunk city employee in pickup at traffic light.
It's good to hear the Seat Jacker works for some, I'm looking out of top of windshield too. Probably because I also set in upright position not reclined backwards.

I'll start off by saying my ass could be in better shape. I have not worked out and squatted in ages and my once plump bottom has morphed into Hank Hill's butt.

That being said, Im getting desperate for a solution. I purchased a well-reviewed memory foam seat cushion that has not helped.

These (cloth) seats are just awful beyond 3 hours.

I'm 6'4, 230 and need a solution that doesn't involve me chopping my car seat down being that I don't officially own it (yet).

If I'm not mistaken, the seat slammer that doesn't involve chopping the seat would make the seat higher which would probably put my head at the cusp of the roof.

Am I out of luck on solutions?
Idk about the jackers but with your height not sure how well they would work for the Slammers for my Mojave best purchase yet

Same Here! Im 5'7 on a very good day. I can jump in and out of the JT with ease. No problem on long drives.

wow for 200 bucks i will go down to home depot and fabricate something for 10 bucks. I was gonna try it till i saw the price
I vaguely remember seeing somebody on the forum that did that with washers… But I’m not entirely sure how secure that is. The desert does it brackets are really well-made and definitely make the feet seat feel like it’s in an OEM footing when tightened down

if i were to do this i would most likely cut metal pipe to fit and put longer bolts in the seats. The washers doesnt seem like a good idea

If you think of something easy id be interested in trying. I had a set of the .75 spacers in before and couldn’t get comfy with them. Now recently im finding it hard to be comfortable on long trailer pulls and got another set to try again.

i reached out to desert does it last year about maybe doing a 1/2in set. They gave me a phenomenal response, but reader’s digest version is it wouldn’t work. So .75 is the smallest they can do.

I believe it's the offset between the 2 bolt holes in the jacker. Too close together to do a 1/2" jacker.

the leather is just as uncomfortable after about 2 hours, wish the seats had more padding

Okay, so here is my experience with this issue.

Last summer my wife, my 1 1/2 year old daughter and myself drove from Toledo to Myrtle Beach SC which was around a 13 hour drive counting stops for gas and food. I’m 6’5, about 185lbs and never had any issues with back pain after driving any distances before. We took her JLU for the trip which has the same seats and setup as the JT. When we finally got to where we were staying, my lower back was totally seized up and I couldn’t bend over or really do much of anything. It basically ruined the whole vacation for me and just made me miserable the entire time. I had no idea that the lack of hamstring/lower leg support would cause that big of an issue.

I have no problems with headroom, my head does not hit the sound bar and my seat is reclined mostly forward with enough room to get my hand behind the seat to take out our younger daughters car seat. My oldest is now closer to 3 years old and sits in the back passenger side in a fixed car seat.

I remember having the front of the seat in my Silverado maxed out all the way up with the rear of it as far down as it would go and it being very comfortable to drive no matter what the distance was.

For now, I’m going to leave it the way it is. We visit her parents who live about 3 hours away on the other side of Ohio a few times a year and have also had no problems taking either vehicle. If we plan any sort of longer drive more than a couple hours, I’m going to 100% guarantee that a set of 1.25 inch fixed seat jackers are getting put in before the trip. There is no way I’m going through this again.
