Anyone have opinions on getting the weather tech versus factory all weather floor mats/protectors?

I helped my mom order the WT's for her latest car. They were thick and heavy duty but the color wasnt quite a perfect match. The fit was pretty good. She did add a WT back seat protector and it didn't fit very well at all and the color on it was way off. She didn't care. I added the factory mats in my JT and they do seem thinner but so far I like them. The fit perfectly. I think my mail lady liked them too. They came in a factory parts box and had the part number and part name on it and when it was out for delivery they suddenly disapeared. The vendor had to eat the loss and send another set. I'm curious to see if my mail lady has new mats in her jeep now.

I went with the WT for my JTR. The fit is perfect and they seem like they will last the life of the truck. The sides come up a few inches from the floor so they do a great job of catching all the sand and muck I track in. The OEM mats I've had in other trucks aren't dished like these WT mats so dirt tends to go around them.

I'm not sure about the Mopar mats, I was just comparing to OEM mats I've had in trucks of old. Sorry for the confusion.

Factory slush mats are great AND if you remove the little pre-cut carpet piece you can snap the mat to the Jeep and put the factory plug back in the mat allowing you to easily remove the plug and let "stuff" out even rinse them off while still in the truck.

Factory mats hold water. They have tall edges where needed.

I know it’s not an option but Armorlite. I cannot suggest it enough. It’s def a bit costly and can be somewhat of a pain to install (least it was for me who has no experiencing in any type of automobile modding)

but the final result is unbelievable. Less noise, more stable temps, easy to wash out/clean, super durable.

Do the weathertech mats have the drain holes? Otherwise they will trap the water.
With the Mopar mats, moisture will collect underneath if caught in a rainstorm with the top off.

We're looking to go that route.

On every car but this one in the last 15 years, I’ve had Weathertech. But the mopar mats with the integrated drain plug are fantastic. For this vehicle and JL’s, I think they’re more functional. I live in a super snowy area, and my carpet underneath is still untouched and brand new. They catch everything.

Edit: In the back seat, Weathertech might be better. I don’t like the connection point on the mopar mats. But it is easier to remove one half at a time for spray offs. Weathertech is harder in that respect.

I have the Jeep slush mats, and my wife has weathertech (albeit not in a Jeep). Personally, I prefer the Jeep/Mopar. Weathertech is a harder, thicker and less pliable material, with more texturing. The Jeep is a more traditional rubber floor mat, and in my opinion a little nicer.

I prefer the WT, I had the Mopar in my JLU which was good but the quality and fit are better with the WT.

I usually get OEM mats, but I decided to go with the WT FloorLiner HP.

I highly recommend the FloorLiner HP because they have extra high raised edges and a barely-noticeable logo. Note that the FloorLiner HP is different from the FloorLiner and All-Weather Floor Mats that WeatherTech sells.

I personally don't like the Mopar mats due to the drain holes and snap-together rear mat.

I know armorlite is expensive, but i think it's worth it.

Had OEM mats with my willys. bought husky x-act contours for my mojave (fitment was an issue there, got refunded) before deciding to drop the cash on armorlite. Was a little weary of the pricing at first, but when it arrived and I could feel it in my hands I understood why it's at the price point it's at, and it's worth it.

If you want to stay cheap, OEMs are plenty goood enough, but I think armorlite is worth the price of entry and then some.
