Just ran through, I kid you not, a load of nails at the entrance to our neighborhood.

Three flats, multiple holes in each tire. Managed to cruise the 400 yards to the house hearing what sounded like 900 angry rattlesnakes under the Jeep.

I have loved the Falken Wildpeaks that came with it. They did great in AZ on dust and rocks. Just started to get a little noisy on road at 20k but still not bad. Now I'm in Arkansas so the trails are mud and leaves. The Jeep is a daily drive so I am writing off M/T as they're just too loud and 90% of the time i'll be on pavement/dirt roads.

Installed an Arcus front bumper this week and a winch. Added about 150lbs to the front end so want to be higher (35's were always in the plan anyway).

So

35x12.5x17 (Ideally true size as big as possible)
AT
Not unobtanium

What tires are you buying today?

If you love the Falkens maybe just going to them in 35's is the way to go?!? I run the in 35's on my Mojave after running them on my ZR2 in 33's and on my last Gladiator Overland in 34's. Great all around but if you want more slick stuff on the trails performance without going to a full mud tire for daily use look into the hybrid MT/AT tires. Cooper, Mickey Thompson etc...!! Those MT Baja's are very nice!! I've had two sets of the Cooper ST Maxx and have had great outcomes with them.

I recently did the same size in Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I have about 3k miles on them and really liking them. They measure just over 34" on the JT so might not meet your criteria of being a true 35"

If a TRUE 35 is on the menu there's always the Interco SSR's!! I ran them a decade ago and for an MT tire they were fantastic compared to my past Cooper and Dick Cepek MT's!! The Interco can be had in a 35x10.5 that comes to an actual 35.3x 11.2........ oh yeah haha

Or if you plan to run an 18inch wheel Toyo has some great true 35 options ;-)

Well I know a true 35 is pretty hard to find. I think the Wildpeaks measured around 31 mounted. Hard to tell now that they're flat :CWL:

Probably go bigger with the size to weight ratio close as possible to the Falken AT'S (Rubi take offs) think I'd go with the Nitto Recon Grappler in a 35X11.50/12.50 17 as close as I can find as far as weight. To the Falken tires and larger.

I just got the Falkens in 35. I'm pleased with them.

Not even Toyo has a true 35, if you want a true 35 buy a set of BFG KO2 in 37 12.5 17, they will measure 35.6 on your jeep.
I'm buying Kanati Trail Hogs if I had to buy tires today. Have ran Goodyear Kevlar M/TS, yoko Geolander M/Ts, BFG KO2s, Toyo's open country, Nitto Trail Grapplers, Ironman M/TS, and Falken wild peaks in the past. Before I decided to run a Set of the Kanatis the BFGs were my favorite tire but As long as Kanati sells the Trail Hog At-4's I'll have a set on my jeep. By far the better ride and over all performance on a daily driver than any of the others I listed. They are still pretty quiet with 34,000 miles on them.

When mine go - I'm looking at General A/Tx again. Fantastic snow tires, good on wet roads, dry roads and not loud at all. They are wearing evenly on this truck.
I had them on my 2020 for quite a while, and they've been on my 2022 for over 7,000 miles so far.

I ran Falken Rubicon take-offs for a while on my 2020 - they weren't as quiet as the Generals and maybe a little less good in our type of snow and snow pack here, but ok tires.
I watch what some of the others here have experienced and will select 1 or 2 tires others have had success with to compare my next time around so I don't just say "I like these" without once again seeing if I can do better.

I've been very very happy with my Firestone Destination XTs. I'm also in Arkansas and think that these will handle our weather well.

No tire will measure ”true to size" mounted because all tires have sidewall squish. The softer more compliant the sidewall, the smaller it will be mounted. If you want truer 35s then pump them up to max psi to minimize squish and go with a load range d or e instead to maximize actual height.

That said, hands down I'd go general grabber ATX for a daily with the Baja boss a close second. I have a set of atx 37s with 25k miles and they easily have another 25-30k left.

Even not mounted the specs on,. just for example, the stock Falkens on a Rubicon are 32.8" and not 33.
Then put the weight of the truck on - and it's exactly like you said, it goes down from that 32.8"
Even when the tire company charts say they are equal, they aren't exactly.
