I'm going to need new tires relatively soon. By Spring most likely.

I've been considering whether I want to go up to 35's just for the helluvit. What will be the impact on mileage, speedometer accuracy, etc on my otherwise entirely stock 2020 JTR?

If a TRUE 35 is on the menu there's always the Interco SSR's!! I ran them a decade ago and for an MT tire they were fantastic compared to my past Cooper and Dick Cepek MT's!! The Interco can be had in a 35x10.5 that comes to an actual 35.3x 11.2........ oh yeah haha

Or if you plan to run an 18inch wheel Toyo has some great true 35 options ;-)
Awesome to see someone else on the forum showing love for the SSRs. Ran the 35x10.5 for four years on my JLUR and my Gladiator for 6 months. Amazing tire in all conditions. Only drawbacks were they are E rated, heavy, and hard to get.

I went with 37” Baja Boss MTs and recommend them and the ATs all day long. Don’t think there is a better mainstream tire available especially when talking about all terrains.

cheers

I need to talk to those guys next spring about tires for my SX4. They have aged out - they'll be 10 years old next summer. It's put away for the winter now but I've loved these Generals so much on my truck and they are smooth as glass even up to 95 so I'm thinking about Generals for my Eagle.

And they're made here. That's a big ++++

Just did! My 35” KO2s retired after 47k with some meat left on them, and I went with 37” MT Baja Boss ATs. I have about 1,300 miles in them so far. Some highway, some trails, a little rain and snow. Can’t find a fault in them so far, and once the balancing was worked out, they ride smooth and pretty quiet.

I've been very very happy with my Firestone Destination XTs. I'm also in Arkansas and think that these will handle our weather well.
No tire will measure ”true to size" mounted because all tires have sidewall squish. The softer more compliant the sidewall, the smaller it will be mounted. If you want truer 35s then pump them up to max psi to minimize squish and go with a load range d or e instead to maximize actual height.

That said, hands down I'd go general grabber ATX for a daily with the Baja boss a close second. I have a set of atx 37s with 25k miles and they easily have another 25-30k left.

I never get why people insist a tire is true to size once mounted. I've ran a lot of different tires over the yrs and haven't came across a true to size tire yet.

I've always had the Generals on my watch list but never pulled the trigger. I got a buddy who loves them. I may take another look when these Kanati's wear out.

These days I run the Falken Wildpeaks on our Tacoma and two jeeps. I'm happy with them so just going to stick with them. Currently have the 35s on the gladiator. Only reason I would go with another brand right now would be if the price were cheaper since tires are getting expensive.

Just ran through, I kid you not, a load of nails at the entrance to our neighborhood.

Three flats, multiple holes in each tire. Managed to cruise the 400 yards to the house hearing what sounded like 900 angry rattlesnakes under the Jeep.

I have loved the Falken Wildpeaks that came with it. They did great in AZ on dust and rocks. Just started to get a little noisy on road at 20k but still not bad. Now I'm in Arkansas so the trails are mud and leaves. The Jeep is a daily drive so I am writing off M/T as they're just too loud and 90% of the time i'll be on pavement/dirt roads.

Installed an Arcus front bumper this week and a winch. Added about 150lbs to the front end so want to be higher (35's were always in the plan anyway).

So

35x12.5x17 (Ideally true size as big as possible)
AT
Not unobtanium

What tires are you buying today?

The next set I put on my truck will be General Grabber X3's. I put a set of those on my wife's truck and really like them. The road noise is not bad with them either.

I am very pleased with my Falkens. I recently bought a set of take offs from a member here. The set that came on my JT have 55K on them and I plain on running them 10K more. That said MY F250 and my wife's TJ have the Nitto Ridge Grabbers on them. No complaints with the Nitto, would buy again with out a second thought.
