I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I picked up my 2022 Mojave in December of 2021, and my XM expired at the 6-month mark (which I don't really care about). My Uconnect phone app can still lock and unlock my jeep, so obviously the Uconnect remote is a longer freebie subscription. Does anyone know long until that expires, and how much it costs to renew?

Thank you for any and all info!

Unconnect lasts 1 yr from delivery and is ridiculously expensive to renew. Over $300 a yr, and the best deal they seem to offer is maybe half that. It’s worth maybe $5 a month in my mind.

I've got 6 months for $60, then they'll add a couple of months for free.

I am 7 days from my first free expiring on the Uconnect. They text me, so I called. The lowest tier plan they have is basically the part I want, which is use the app to remote start, unlock, etc. They could do it for $12.99 a month, or discounted for annual payment to $129.90. Has anyone found a way to get this cheaper? I would like to have it, but not sure it is worth that much to me.

Say you'll stop the service, and they'll usually offer a month or two for free. Otherwise, I once paid $60 for 6 months.

The fact that this ain’t illegal pisses me off more than anything. Like how are they gonna take a feature from a vehicle put a paywall behind it and call it a service. Its hardware extortion plain and simple. I refuse to pay a cent for a feature I bought my vehicle with. The hardware is literally inside the physical property I own and somebody can say "you cant use it pay me". I want to go to a car manufacturers CEO's house and give them the subscription service for using their legs. They can pay me $20000 a month for the premium experience of using their legs. I'm glad my home state (NJ) is the only one currently working on making stuff like this illegal. As it should be.

Yeah, nope. Your wrong on this.

And I hate subscription BS too. But this ain't like heated seats where nothing else is involved and they just turn it off.

Remote start, locks, etc do not turn off. You can still use all of those features via your keofob. They all still work.

What you can't do anymore is use the wireless infrastructure of XM or whatever to control those functions wirelessly from anywhere using the phone app.

And it all makes perfect sense because your using someone's wireless infrastructure that they own and maintain and there are costs related to that and they aren't in business to open your car for you nationwide for free.

You bought your vehicle with remote start via the fob. They gave you a year free of the xm service as a carrot so you might buy it again. If you choose not to, that's in you.

But they are not disabling the "hardware" on your jeep.

The fob honestly has a good long range and works perfectly fine to remote start the car.

I renewed the xm connect because I like some of the additional things like health reports and gps to find the jeep in a crowded parking lot.

Either way. You are confusing this with the BS that bmw and others are doing and it's not the same thing.

To clarify, I have factory remote start. Obviously it doesn't reach as far as the app. And more importantly, I like to lock and unlock using my app. In the end, I'm spoiled rotten either way!

Well lowest I've heard is about $12 a month like you found out.

Pay the man. I did. And honestly it's not that much. I'd rather it be free yes.

But, as you said. Spoiled.

Depends on which package you got. There was a convenience package that had the remote start (One of my options) has no end date as far as I know. It was included in the package. 21 Sport S Ecodiesel

That's with the fob, not the guardian service.

I can live without it and XM. I don't like to have to pay or be reminded to pay for something that is nice, but not needed. As long as I can walk up to the car with the, remote somewhere on my body is good enough.
