It's amazing what a proper tire does for this rim.
Facts right here! I've said this on and on. And its exactly why I kept my stock rims (for now). Is it my absolute favorite? NO. But I like it well enough to justify not buying an aftermarket wheel at least early on. Easily focusing on other mods.

In my opinion the Overland OEM wheel is by far the best looking stock wheel of any trim. 295/70s are that sweet spot for this narrower wheel.

I hadn’t seen any overlands with bigger, more aggressive tires when I did mine spring of 2020, but I was very pleasantly surprised.

I bet. Becoming more common now though. Hell I've actually had influence on a few members on here on doing it after seeing mine. I did a bunch of research when I did mine

Hey NC.....are your tires 285 or 295? Im asking because looking on Tire Discount site, they don't offer a 285/70/R18.............. If they are, where did you get them from? Thxs

I went with 285 75 18 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. I have Rubicon shocks and springs. I plan on adding a 1.5 inch leveling kit.
Hey Mike...... did you have any rubs BEFORE you added the 1.5" Leveling Kit? Or did you even try to run them without the lift? Thxs

Yeah, they apparently don’t make that size anymore.

I put Rubicon springs and shocks on the same time I put the tires on. The Rubicon springs and shocks didn't raise it but 1/2 to 1 inch. The tires did not rub. I did add a leveling kit to the front later because even with the Rubicon springs and shocks it was 1 1/2 inches lower in the front than in the back.

OK....... I've decided on 295/70/R18s...... Stock wheels, and no lift.
After a lot of research, my choice is down to Bridgestone Dueler REVO3 and Falken Wildpeak A/T3.
Need experienced opinions and advice on these 2 choices!!!

Are you sure that you do not need a level kit. Would like to go to that size tire but was concerned about interference issues. Also looking at Yokohama G015 any thoughts?

ABSOLUTELY SURE!!!!
I ended up going with the REVO3's 295x70x18 with no leveling kit or wheel spacers.
I love this tire........has a good "Jeep worthy" look, but smooth and quiet on the highway!
They are listed at 34.3"...... but I measure them at 34.5", and after 8500 highway, city, beach, and well groomed trail miles, I haven't had one rub what so ever. Now being totally transparent, I have not tested the limits of my JT when it comes to Compression or Rebound of the 4 tire corners, of the vehicle. But under normal driving, lock to lock, you will have NO RUBS with this size tire, on an OVERLAND model!
The Yokohama's you mentioned are listed at 34.4", so I would say "GO FOR IT"!!

Thanks for the feedback, also like the Revo's. Wanted to go to a larger tire size w/o level or lift.

I remember when I was shopping around looking to buy a gladiator. I remember seeing AZJT's white gladiator on those big tires and I was blown away at how good the stock Overland Rims looked. A few years later, here's a few pictures:

This picture is when I first got it. Very few mods installed in this image. My goal was to keep it simple, effective, and most importantly, fun. I've always liked blacked out vehicles that don't draw too much attention, but this vehicle obviously draws plenty. (Only mods at the time: Bestop freedom top, stubby antenna, Mopar folding tonneau cover, Mopar hood wind visor, and Yokohama Geolander MT 33")

Then I added a Fishbone Offroad mid-size bumper and a zeak winch with a factor55 flatlink.

Finally added Falcon sp2.1 shocks for 0-1.5" lift and then added front Terraflex 1.5" spacers and Airlift1000 airbags on the back. This angle isn't great but at least it shows how flush the tires sit and the little bit of extra height. It's basically level now unless I fully inflate the rear bags, which gives it a little bit of rake and obviously a little more payload rating and towing stability.
EDIT: Almost forgot, this picture also includes some Rubicon rock slider take offs that I bought from a member of this forum! Shoutout to that guy, he was nice. I also installed a Falcon steering stabilizer at this point. I think I'm done modding, for a while!

Sorry, you can't see the wheels and tires on this picture but I thought I'd add this one for fun.

Well don't be shy....let's see it! Im considering this size on my stock wheels as well. I'm on JTR springs but that's only about an inch difference. I'd love to see how yours came out!

Just realized I don't have a decent sunny side pic to show tire detail....... but these will do for now!
I really like the way this size, fills up the tire well, just right!
My Avatar has the stock Bridgestone tires for comparison.
