A M.O.R.E. Dead Pedal for a left foot rest seemed like a good idea.
So I decided to treat myself and ordered one.

The mounting plate provides three positions to mount the pedal.
It's a devil to install so I wanted to get it right the first time.
My thinking went like this.

The driver can adjust the seat for the gas and brake pedal.
Wouldn't it stand to reason
that the dead pedal should be about even with them?
Trial fitment suggested the aftmost position would accomplish that.
But then I am a precision-sized five foot six.

Youtube videos are helpful for the install.
One good idea is to stuff a rag in the well under the brace
to keep from losing the clamp, nuts and washers in it.

After getting the studs on the clamp
through the two holes in the bracket
I stuffed another rag behind the clamp
to keep it there. Tape was suggested in videos.

A person has to be a one-armed contortionist to do this.
There is no room in the footwell for head, shoulders and arms.
Simply starting the nuts was so much trouble
that I discarded the washers.

M.O.R.E. instructions suggest using a 1/4 inch drive extension.
That would have been helpful
but the nut required a 7/16 socket.
Good luck having one of those sockets with a 1/4 inch drive.

It is nice having the footrest
but I have to remind myself to use it.

One unexpected benefit that is really paying off
is that I use the pedal to oppose the grab handle
for leverage and hoist myself in and out of the truck.

That is when I feel spry enough
to not use the hide-a-step.

Anyway, I had to buy it.
It's Rubicon RED !

Never understood the benefits of these things but people buy them so there must be some kind of benefits.
I find it more comfortable when driving to rest my foot on this rather than flat on the floor. It's a more natural angle. BUT, what I discoed that makes this REALLY awesome is for bracing during a steep decline, or if you need to raise up a bit in the seat to see an obstacle.

Although it took a month of Sundays to receive it from Quadratec, their dead pedal was very easy to install. It also matches the gas and brake pedal making it look oem.

If you ever had back problems, you would understand how nice a dead pedal is. It allows you to position your leg that eliminates pressure on the lower back. It is one more reason this Jeep is so comfortable that it doesn’t feel like a Jeep!

For sure - hip savers for me. Most other vehicles I've had had a place for the left foot without it hanging out there in the air and nothing under your shoe sole. Even the WJ had a built-in foot rest there.
It's ergonomic - in fact, we started using foot rests at work under desks to keep the feet properly positioned. Saved backs, hips, etc.
The JT sucks for left foot space. I've never had my left foot hanging in the air like with these.
Heck of a difference.

Mine takes seconds to install or remove as it's held on with one nut on an existing stud. I had this one in my 2020 and moved it to my 2022 in short order.

Both of my 1/4" sets have 7/16 sockets. It's a very common size.
Mine has 1/2" as well. But everything in my truck is metric save for some of the snow plow stuff.

Seriously - 7/16" and not 10mm?
Weird.
BTW - all of my 1/4" drive sets have 7/16" and two of them go to 1/2" sockets, 6 point.
It's left side in the row that has the shock sockets.

Thanks for the comments on your install. I ordered mine Jan 4... still waiting for it to ship. I was so used to having one in my JK that I'm feeling a bit lost without it now.

Yes but much like it’s younger brother the 10 mm, it likes to disappear at critical moments.
(I actually have 1/4 drive up to 5/8” for tight spots)

@BaliMawr I normally drive with my seat all the way down but when I hit the trails, I bring it all the way up for better line of sight. I never use my trail camera but the wife discovered that it is extremely useful to see over a break over.

Never even considered it for that but I guess I'm use to not having anything over there for the past 20yrs since all I've been driving for 80% of the time has been wranglers or my gladiator and never considered another spot for my left leg. It just feels natural to me, even on my 10hr trips to Easton, PA I used to do a few yrs ago in my JKU.

Went to the Q-Tech site, and didn't see the one that matches the OEM pedals?

Might you have a link or the manufacturer?

Thanks!

For those of you with the MORE dead pedal... it looks like it has space under it. Is there room to still put your foot flat on the floor with your toes under it if desired? I really like being able to put my foot flat on the ground or at least have more than one position. Also is there room between the dead pedal and the brake for a averaged sized shoe to fit if I wanted to stretch my leg out straight?

Thanks all!

Steve at M.O.R.E. replied to my email and confirmed:
The socket size for the nuts for the 1/4" studs on the clamp is 7/16"
The socket size for the nut for the 5/16" Flat Top Bolt is 1/2"
The Hex Wrench size for the head of the Flat Top Bolt is 3/16"

American Standard still lives!
