My concern is it says April and of course I’m out of warrantee and the wobble has been progressively happening more often. It’s funny I had not checked the stabilizer because everything says it’s not the problem but I just grabbed it and it is in fact ”jiggly or rattle” to the point I might order a new one and hope for the best. I’ve had DW occasionally until a couple of weeks ago when it happened about 5 times each way on a trip from Tampa to Ft. Lauderdale and back.

off subject but my passenger Side soft top latch popped open three times on the way back as well.

People Work?
I'm curious to know if the old solid front axle Toyota 4x4 pickups (back before they were named "Tacoma" suffered from death wobble. Anybody know? I'm sure it can happen to any solid front axle vehicle after they get a lot of miles on them and suspension/steering components are worn and need to be replaced, but did it happen to Toyotas or any other solid front axle vehicles when they were close to new as it seems to have happened with some Jeeps? Just wondering if this is truly a "Jeep thing" or a wider issue.
Yes.

DW or not, if you can grab any steering or suspension part and it is 'jiggly" or rattles or isn't tight, time to fix it.

Yes. Unruly dynamics and solid front axle 4wd are "well known to one another"

In the early 20-tens I drove a 1989 Ford F350 4x4 (leaf springs front and back) that I bought from a government surplus route that had only 12.000 (real) miles on it. I got it direct from a local government who'd bought it from the USAF. Low miles but it had probably seen hard service and various suspension and steering bushings probably hadn't gotten better from age.

"Death wobble" would be an understatement.

Hit a crease in the road at certain speeds and it was literally "hang on for your life" as it began to oscillate and lunge from side to side with rapidly escalating violent force - though I found that if you gave the steering wheel a snap in either direction and back to center to take up the slop, the wobble immediately ceased. Oddly, it was often the minor road imperfections that would set it off, not large potholes or washboards. Putting new urethane joints in the steering linkages made the excitement go away, entirely.

What I am about to say, I say from the standpoint that I like solid front axles. A lot. Can't beat the rugged simplicity. I am delighted that it's 2023 and I am driving a manual transmission truck with a lever actuated transfer case and solid front axle.

That said, solid front axle is 1940s tech.

I am really glad that you can still buy this vehicle that has a solid front axle. Glad that they haven't been banned or extinguished completely from the market by people who want luxuriously dull vehicles.

But I'm a die hard firm grip on the wheel at all times driver. Never sensed a wobble so far, and after my F350 training, I'd never let a wobble "get going".

Underneath the remarkable refinement that Jeep has managed to build into the JL/JT platform, we are driving relics. Can't beat solid axle if you want bombproof simplicity and potential extreme offroad abilities. But in my opinion it calls for being an unusually active and attentive driver.

Got my card today. How do you know if your gladiator qualifies. Mine is a 2020 rubicon. So if you don’t opt out then you’re gladiator is still in the running.

I got my card yesterday

I have a Metalcloak tie rod, drag link and steering stabilizer sitting in the garage ready to go on. Guess I'll leave that uninstalled fro a little bit

In looking at the BAM website posted earlier in this thread it looks like the stabilizer has gone through several iterations so maybe the most recent Mopar version is better at dampening than the previous versions hence why only the ‘20 Gladiator is covered.
